i mean to be fair, i'm not gonna defend imperator. however i've said to a lot of people repeatedly, with paradox games if you're into them, you generally put thousands of hours in, so eu4 costs about 200 bux for all the dlc, give or take, but that's only slightly less than 4 brand new ps4 games, and you get THOUSANDS of hours of gameplay, so i really people would stop acting like dlc from paradox adds nothing or isn't worth the money, or in the worst case think they should have added all the content games like ck2 or eu4 have gotten over the years for free. i think we wouldn't have a game company making the niche games we all know and love if that were the case, that being said, i hate imperator in it's current state, it needs a lot of work, and reworks.

I mean every single Paradox game was pretty great (even though their releases were definitly pretty bad they would quickly get updated and fixed and become amazing games) up reall til EUIV. EUIV is still a great game and it did have a pretty bad release but it was here they realized the money in DLC. Sure CK2 also has a crap ton of DLCs but nothing beats EUIV in terms of volume and price (most of CK2's DLC are pretty cheap and the price match its content while most of EUIV is just $20) and then that could be seen in HOI IV. I mean it is a alright game but it has some of the worst DLC's in my eyes as the first 3 were more or less just Focus packs that added more Focuses to the game which more mods do way better and more in depth anyways but still the game wasn't terrible. Then Imperator Rome came, this game was suppose to have some of the best features of all their previous games (pop from Victoria, Characters and people from CK2, and diplomacy, trade, and a few other things from EUIV. But all of these things they took just ended up be shallow versions from the games they took it from pissing off the communities from these games

I think the game is ok... started out as a 7 for me, but... as time move on, and I got to know it better, it dropped to a 6. It's not bad. But I can see where the criticism lies. Just... some people make it out to be shit, which it ain't... at least in my view. Yes, the mana is shallow as fuck, yes, the unit variety is garbage, but it has some great ideas, some better implemented than others. The frustration is strongest from EU4 players as Imperator is basically the same game, but stripped down (no national perks/identity) and with questionable additions (same boring combat system and of course the mana issue). It's a good game, but a very bland paradox game.

I'm just hoping that future mods will be able to take advantage of the extremely fantastic base that Paradox created with the cities system, a lot of potential with that. No real reason to play it over other games for now though, just the mana and blobbing of EU4 but worse combined with the characters of CK2 but worse. Though there are alot of neat ideas with alot of potential the execution is lackluster.

the game isnt finished. its like windows 10, they released it before it is ready and rely on geeks to offer solutions and improvements, this gives said geeks a massive hard on. Future DLC etc will improve and finish the game I waited 3 years after EU4 was released and now it is a very good game...

Game got Dropped by Paradox before it ever truly reached the point it was really playable on even the same realm as CK2 or EU4
@stojankovacic15245 жыл бұрын
I agree with you on most points but I think you should review it again in a year or year and a half and you will be met with a masterpiece. Play EU4 as it was on release... It's also bare bones but it got way better to become the game we know and love

@@JoshuaKevinPerry Why release a game that's already outdated? Why waste the hype people have about a new game releasing it 2 years after it's playable? I:R is far better than most other Pdx games were at release. Why weren't they released years later?

It is morally acceptable to pirate Paradox games that are intentionally holding necessary content hostage. I.e. CK2 for a new player to get all the dlc would cost £300+ for a nearly 7 year old game. Kinda fucked. Make the base game free and charge for the DLC`s imo. Allows it to be supported AND make it actually viable for new players.

Scored families are bad as when you have a lot of them you can´t really employ them all. Also I really dont like this game but ledger? Really? Like usually the reason why I look into it is to see information about my enemy but they have it written in thier state description so no worries The UI is really bad, trade also

It appears to me that most people who review the game have not played EU: Rome which Imperator: Rome is based on. Comparing Imperator: Rome with EU4 and Crusader Kings 2 and Victoria 2 does not really do it justice cos it is not trying to be any of those.
@kostasbrunner57015 жыл бұрын
I did and I think imperator is just a little bit polished EU Rome. They promised they will take the best parts from eu4 ck2 and vic2. And they took the worst parts. Taits that do nothing from ck2. Mana from eu4. And don't dare to compare the pop system from vic2... Maybe from vic1 but not even close. I play paradox games since the release of hio2 and imperator is just a joke atm.

Rand0mname I am also perfectly fine with this game. But I am, at the same time, disappointed. I have logged 40 hours in it and I will probably log another 40, but I wish I could play more. I can confidently call this game a good game, but I wish I could call it great game. It is a game worth it’s cost in my opinion and after dlc and patches it will, most likely, only get better
@TheDinkcool5 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say that this is typical Paradox at all. CK II, EU IV and HoI IV were all great games with a ton of depth at release and continue to be great games to this day. Even if you play them without any DLC. This game however, is just boring.
