Sad that you can't do 4 of one heavy weapon type anymore. Now it has to be 2 Frag cannons and 2 Infernus bolters. I modeled my 10 man vet squad with 4 of the bolters. Sadge

I'm picking up a copy of the book but it is definitely a let down. Not only was it the "big secret book" but it is also obviously just slapped together to get players to pick up the kill team boxes for use in their games. I have a great deal of sympathy for those that built an entire Deathwatch army only for it to be butchered.

I feel warhammer has the same issue as it did when i played in 6th edition whoever gets first turn wins in 8 minutes or if the battle grid is big enough whoever has the longest range weapons wins. What have they done to improve going second ?

AP -4 cover wouldn’t have made a difference. I imagine there probably wasn’t space to put it completely out of LoS for a model that size.

⁠@@jorzolek01yeah I meant out of LoS, not cover. I have noticed that sometimes Winters’ terrain setups have a lot of wide firing lanes and limited LoS blocking. Not a criticism, as I really enjoy these batreps, but GW Pariah and Leviathan terrain layouts are more dense.

We all make mistakes and I imagine when you're filming a battle report, it becomes even more difficult to remember everything when setting up shots and breaking for food. They can indeed! If you want, you don’t have to have any characters from your main army, so long as you have an allied character with warlord. Perfect for inquisitors.

Please explain: what is so special about "oath of moment & why the re-roll dmg was nerfed, to no re-roll," when it seems every army has at least some units with built in oath of moment at a minimum? I might get an army some day, but in the meantime, I'm trying to understand the rules. From a observation perspective, it seems the space marines come out swinging in 9th & 10th, then get nerfed & then nerfed some more. At the beginning of 10th, everyone said oath (re-roll hit & dmg), was spot on for the space marines. What gives???

It never gave you reroll damage, it previously gave reroll wounds in the index. Space marines are still perfectly ok, especially codex non compliant chapters which are some of the strongest armies in the game

I hate GW so much. I’ve put up with the deathwatch being subpar for basically their entire existence, and now they do this - further nerfs to the worst performing faction in the game. How do they release something with amazing rules like Horus heresy and at the same time release a steaming pile of shit like this codex???? Can’t wait for 11th edition where DW are just consigned to Legends in their entirety.
