Imperial Godzilla Double Review 6" and 12" - Patrons Pick September 2018

I picked one up for 10 dollars at a convention this summer. I figured everyone has one so ya know, seemed like the right thing to do. Whenever I eventually get a car either him or the Creations 54 will end up in there on the dashboard. Along with Jesus and a Charlie Brown ghost. That way wherever I drive I'll always have the father, the son and the holy spirit.

This was my favorite toy when I was little. I remember carrying him with a 98 movie. Can imagine my disappointment when I finally saw that godzilla! He looks derpy, but that's part of the charm as an adult. My little brother ordered one for me on eBay for my birthday, I was nearly in tears. I missed this toy terribly. Thanks for this wonderful video!

Ahh, nostalgia trip! I still have the 12" Imperial Godzilla my dad got me, he's chilling on the shelf in a place of honor next to my NECA Godzillas!

Got mine in 1991 from KB Toys. I got the 12", my sister got the 6". She eventually gave it to me when she got big into Barbie. I still to this day have both. I still hold them in high regard when it comes to my Godzilla collection. Yes, compared to today's selection of Godzilla goodies, they pale in comparison. Nevertheless, back then, before the Trendmasters run, it was the go to Godzilla. Thanks for reviewing these. It was a good nostalgia hit.

Right now, you can get them at toy shows with their hook-tag really cheap. I got mine bundled in with the Bandai Creations Burning Godzilla for $6.

I had that 6" Godzilla as a kid. Got it from KB Toys, always thought it was some KO and wasn't happy that he was colored the way he was rather than black. But it makes me feel better now knowing he was unofficially/officially Godzilla. Mine was definitely cleaner than yours

Have you considered fixing one of them up? The paint is faded on mine and Ive been thinking about trying to spruce it up.

My first Godzilla I had or at least two of them because I can't remember which I got first was the little GLJ toy's Godzilla bendy and the big old Shogun Warriors Godzilla, both came from a swap meet when I was little. I do remember seeing the Imperial around but never got it.

I had the 8(?) inch and 4(?) inch versions of this guy. I think the application of plastic and paint was a bit better, but all were pretty cool regardless

I still have my 6" Imperial figure from way back in 1985. Doesn't have nearly as much mold flashing as yours, nor those wonky process marks on the torso, and the paint job is significantly better (though not GOOD by any stretch). The silver on the chest is less pronounced and the red on the lips is a bit more subdued. The back fins have almost no flashing and overall the details are much sharper. I suspect yours is either a knock-off, OR perhaps the mold set was simply reaching the end of its useful life and this might have been from one of the last production runs by the original manufacturer. I also had the 12" figure back in the day, but I suspect stupid tween me may have stuffed the mouth with fireworks at some point and the lost it in storage. But before that, it came at just the right time. This was also the era of Micro Machines, which scaled really nicely to the 12" figure (and some of the jets/planes scaled well to the 6" figure).

I enjoy the review just one his joy of yaving the figure once again and hearing his 5yr old self coming out. I am on the hunt for my first Godzilla toy I dont think it was official of anything but it was a godzillathat was a battery operated green fabric fur that could walk and had red eyes.

I used to have these figures and I don't remember mine looking so deteriorated. Granted this was back in the 90's and I have been spoiled by a many a good godzilla figures since that time, so maybe my fondness and nostalgia for this old thing is in the traditional head on collision with reality.
