While the paint is definitely mixed on this guy, I still think the sculpt is fantastic. Hopefully we get an energized version with a breath piece and that beautiful pink glow and cracks across the body

The translucent dorsal plates look good. That's about the only positive thing i can say here.

I do find a bit of irony in the fact that when Hiya released their updated Godzilla 2019 figure, a lot of people were quick to point out that the new neck had weaker articulation compared to SHMA's Monsterverse Godzilla figures. Now we've got SHMA adopting similar engineering for the neck as Hiya's Godzilla figures, but the articulation is apparently worse! Welp, here's hoping that SHMA's upcoming movie accurate millennium Godzilla figure is good.

I think the figure itself is fine. Is it worth the ~$140 price tag? No. But I’m sticking with my purchase. I think it has some cool functionality that the Hiya won’t have (and I’ll be getting that one too). I think a lot of people are ragging on this just because there is a cheaper option now. I think the review fairly cover’s its strengths and weaknesses. Still sticking with it personally.

Sure this figure is flawed to most but I think it is still somewhat better than Minus One Godzilla figure they made, can't wait to see the final result of what Hiya have been doing for so long, I HOPE they DON'T disappoint (disclaimer: I'm not dissing SHMA, I just wanna see both version of the figure)

This is kind of my biggest problem with the monster arts line right now. What is the point of having so many cuts, so many pieces of articulation if literally trying to move it makes it fall apart? This is sadly why I don’t really play with my monster arts figures. There’s always a risk of “oh I tried bending the elbow and the entire arm fell apart.” I will wait for HIYA

This does seem to show the Godzilla section of the line is a bit of an afterthought when it comes to the engineering aspect (The Tigerex neck joints vs this guy's example.) Which is a shame. I know they've been experimenting with the shifting dorsal plates but it feels last second honestly, especially when looking at how they do Monster Hunter critters. Really informative review. I appreciate how in-depth you get with the joint systems and so on. Continue to keep it real. P.S please do more stop motion Steven. That was great.

Great breakdown of the articulation! Overall, I do like this figure. I feel like the movement looks great in some areas and kind of a let down in others. The paint could also be better for the price point as well. I was planning on getting this guy regardless, but after seeing some more reviews and getting the Minus 1 heat ray version yesterday, my wallet is telling me to hold out for now

I canceled my pre order for this figure. I've watched almost every review of there, and I can't afford to spend $150 with the qc issues. If an opportunity comes by my later, or if there's a special version I might pick it up. Holidays are right around the corner, and Hiya's is 1/3 of the price. I'll probably try to pick up the epic Ichiban figure.
