Interesting Japanese terms to know that are also in the song and you'll see pretty common among other Japanese gunka. 火蓋切 (火蓋が切られる) = Cutting the fire lid = Basically means prepared for a battle, or start a battle "Fire lid" means "a lid that covers the crater of a matchlock gun (of an old gun)" and is the original meaning of "cutting the fire lid". 肉彈 = Nikudan = Human bullets = Soldiers charging who are prepared to die, this term can also apply to pilots, tankers, submarines anything you can think of. Japanese soldiers viewed themselves as Human bullets and their goal is to do damage to the enemies, expecting to die in the process. 暴戻 = Tyranny = Japanese viewed the Chinese as Tyranny, and they talked about punishing China with justice a lot in their Chinese related songs 敵前上陸 = Amphibious landing in front of the enemies 御稜威 = Miitsu = A word that glorifies the emperor and gods' majesty, so it pretty much means "Glory" 聖戰 = Holy war, basically any wars the Japanese thought were just, mostly applied to China theater.
