Discover more about the Baron Edmond de Rothschild's ‘Bird and Palmette’ Imperial Safavid carpet, showcased by Christie's head of Rugs & Carpets, Louise Broadhurst.
This sixteenth century masterpiece (estimate £2,000,000 - £3,000,000), which survives in extraordinary condition, was produced during the 'Golden Age' of carpet weaving under the Safavid dynasty (1501-1732).
The carpet will be offered in Art of the Islamic and Indian Worlds including Rugs and Carpets in London on 26 October 2023.
