You need to take advantage of the Watcher's guild and build 2 of your faction buildings. This will give you 4 points for using the watcher's guild and also 4 extra points at the end of the game. That would help you start catching up on points. I would also defend the Watcher's guild so it can be used next round. I would also send two workers to the chapel in order to gain two extra points.

1,2) Use the Watchers Guild to build two faction cards; use razed buildings to pay any foundation cost. Depending on the cost of the first build, you may want to convert workers to resources between uses of the Watchers Guild. Keep in mind the most expensive Barbarian cards are one wood plus two stone or zero wood plus three stone. 3) Raze Pep's watchtower. 4) If you got a Rabble card out of steps 1 and 2, build the tavern and then raze it using Rabble. That draws three cards and leaves a foundation for a faction card. If you drew a feature card that gives a bonus when razing, be sure to play that first. What deck to draw from and what to do next depends largely on what cards were built with Watchers Guild and what cards are drawn. It would be good to get the Sentry Tower down if you get cards that give benefits to razing. If non-razing cards come out (and especially if Border comes up), then focus on building black cards and then fortress to cap off round 5. Also, don't forget you can always spend two workers to draw a card. With the resources Rodney had left at the end of the last round, the two workers probably would have been better spent on card draw than on Chapel.

I suggest you activate your Watchers Guild with two workers while you still have all the resources - this should provide you with 4 victory points and two new buildings. I would take one off each deck (Barbarian deck first). The rest is very dependent on the outcome of the first step: If you do not have enough wood left, send some workers to collect wood and build the Sentry Tower. Use two swords to raze the Watchtower for two cards. Depending on what you get, you may additionally raze your Tavern for two more cards or one of the drawn cards for resources. Alternatively, if he had not activated his Pig Farmer by this time, you may raze it using all three swords. You may now build the Masons Guild and activate it (assuming you have the available resources) for 3 more points as well as the Chapel for 2 more. Depending on the number of resources used during your Watchers Guild draw, you may need to build the Sawmill (or any other drawn building that will provide you with more victory points) instead and activate it. Final notes: After using the Watchers Guild, if you foresee that you will be exactly one resource short to build and activate the Masons Guild, you may raze the Hanseatic League instead of the Watchtower for a victory point and a gold. Keep the Fortress to build during the final round - you may have a couple of extra black buildings by that time. Remember to protect your most valuable building at the start of the last round, when you will be first player, and consider raising his most valuable building at the same time. Good luck!

I agreed with your wanting to have something that people can hum or whistle along too, but was only meh on it at first, and It took a bit, but I am really starting to enjoy the new theme music. I like the happy relaxed feel of it, not every game has to be this intense exciting thing, some can just be a fun time with friends and family.

I'd recommend: _Edited_ -1. Build the Fortress using one of your ruins for a foundation- 2. Use the Watcher's guild twice to draw and build 2 of your faction buildings -(you may have to use the quary as a foundation but you don't need that much stone so it will work out)- At some point you should raze Pep's watchtower, hopefully the Watcher's Guild can provide a building that gives a bonus to razing other buildings.

It is a nice idea, ultimately not required this round because Pep has no raze tokens left, but it won't hurt anything.

True, but I was thinking it's nice to do to get into the habit of using it. And, possibly, if Pep manages to get some through building. Also, definitely do it if you end up playing more than one round next video! Or if you build something even better, protect that! :)

But the Fortress is only worth two VP right now. With no value beyond the building bonus, it isn't worth the wood and foundation at this point. The Barbarian faction deck has a lot of black cards, and Rodney needs to play as many of them as he can first. Ideally, Fortress should be the last card played in round 5 in order to maximize its benefit.

Probably my favourite game, although for some reason I've just always played it solo. I'll be forcing this on my wife for our next game session!
