Tim, thanks so much for filming this! Gives a great idea about the game and I'm glad I finally found the time to watch it :). You do an excellent job talking through your thought process.

Thanks! I'm a talker by nature, so this is very easy for me to do. In fact, when we play games my friends will make fun of me for talking through my turns. :0)

Thank you for explaining the solo game. I do think you missed one thing --> Attack phase in the last round. You would still finish with a great score. Keep up the good work.

Tim - thanks for this video, you've done a great job of explaining the solo game here. I couldn't quite grasp the 'attack' mechanics from the otherwise excellent rulebook, so this has been particularly helpful to understand how that works. As another person who talks a lot and usually commentates my game moves, I appreciate the way you've done that here, as it's actually really helpful to pick up the little nuances of how each action works with the various combos you've put together. Now I can't wait to get a solo game in. Thanks again!

That's a pretty amazing first two rounds for production. Just got the game recently and haven't come anywhere close to getting hands like that. If you get all Features and Actions from your common options the first round you might as well just start over.

Great job Tim! Really helps me understand the flow of the game! Hoping to play solo this weekend, and then with Fred MacKenzie and a couple others soon. Thanks again!

Thanks for extremely helpful run through. I got 131 points by getting 4 points (3 raids+ gallows) from each razed hand card and exchanging villagers mostly for cards and swords

Found a much overlooked rule on page 8 of the rule book. You don't have to use a "common" card as a foundation. You can use your 'faction" cards as well.

pencilpauli The Barbarians are very Viking like. You just can't see it on display as much when you're playing solo. Against another player, they constantly steal opponents resources. It's fun! :0)

I just brought the game read through the instructions and thought I would watch a tutorial video, he seems to do about 3 or 4 things from different areas of the faction board but doesn't move the round 1 counter is this correct, can you use as of the faction areas as u want when you want until u can't do anything else. When does the solo game round end?

According to rule book, if you raze an action card ( that was used this round ) and use it as a foundation you should loose benefits it gave you.
@petermaddern95468 жыл бұрын
You seemed to miss out vital information. For example, you said "let's see if he has more cards than I built" but you didn't explain what happen if he does end up with more? Great video though 🙂

Great play through. I am just getting this so sorry for the late post. I have a question. I noticed that the opponent did not attack at the end of the 5th round. You simply finished your moves and moved on to count final score. Is that correct or was the opponent supposed to attack one last time?

I really like this game, but the solo play looks a bit dull. I like my solo games to be challenging and interactive, not just see how many points you can get... So sad this doesn't have a better solo variant.
@Snazgob8 жыл бұрын
Errol Wilde you probably know this as you posted this a year ago :-) but if you go to the website they have a set of solo campaign rules now which are quite good.

Do the rules actually say that as soon as you build a production building, you get the production resources it provides? Intuitively, I'd think you wouldn't get them until the next production round. Not saying you played it wrong, just desiring some explicit clarification! Excellent vid. Game reminds me of a cross between Loyang and Homesteaders, so unsure if it will fill any holes for me. Thanks so much for making this vid!

***** Ahhh, there it is, page 8 of the rulebook. Unsure how I feel about that rule, I prefer the tougher choices of building now for future gains. Excellent gameplay vid, love the way you provide post-production closeups of the cards, very professional!

I can say that the husband and I missed this rule of receiving resources as the production building was built during our first play last night and it really effects your scoring and building. It was our first time, so that likely would account for the low score somewhat, but not getting the resources right away also really lowers the amount of buildings you can build during that 'short' 5 round game play. We are going to play again tonight and I suspect we will notice a big difference in how many buildings we build and our scores.

Its amazing to me how much the boardgame online market can fluctuate based on "hotness"/availability of an item. Give it some time, it'll drop soon enough :)

Ryan Dalton i assumed it was because it only got released in Europe not US to start with. and the other way around as well ATM. same issue with Xenoshyft 61£ "EU marked "england" . "due to a US release" . Not sure its has much to do with Hotness. Its just about waiting/hoping the game gets released on what ever marked side you live on. "But i do see a lot of old games or Out of print where they do pump the price up online"
