So glad you made this playthrough! While torn between this game or Fallen Land--Waste Knights is more game night friendly--both in terms of play time and being streamlined. I'll buy this first!

Excellent job, Mike! I still haven't explored the Southern trail yet. I would definitely love to see more co-op scenarios further down the road.

I very much enjoyed how different even the north and south were, not to mention all the other scenarios.

A compliment: I watch playthroughs to decide whether a game is challenging me to make sophisticated decisions. In this game, since combat is brief, the mental challenge has to be elsewhere. Your playthrough made it clear to me that there are lots of interesting decisions to make, that are likely to require experience with the game to make them well. Thanks! (And by the way, I hope you will comment about whether you feel you are making deep decisions during your playthroughs, in other videos. Again, thanks.) - toby

While fighting the Maleburn Beauties, you could add the Alice Outcasts attack dice. That was the benefit for siding with the mutants, and you could have probably won the encounter.

You are correct. Sorry I missed that :(

Uh oh...I already have and actually enjoy the Fallout board game and Robinson Crusoe...but this looks like both combined and ramped up!
@OneStopCoopShop2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say that it replaces either. It's especially different from RC, which is more focused on the survival and resource aspect. But it's still a great game and well worth trying out!

@@OneStopCoopShop Good to know, thank you! I'm curious if there are enemies or situations that require combat to the death? I really appreciate the theme and flavor of it just being passing squabbles for supplies and then everyone is on their way, but those Seekers specifically seemed like they could be well-equipped enough to force drifters to fight to the death.
@charlestaft61283 жыл бұрын
(I am commenting this only 1/4 of the way in so you may say this) but wow definitely some Mage Knight vibes here. Combat structure (minutes the dice) plus the hex terrain values seem to have been influenced by MK.
@OneStopCoopShop3 жыл бұрын
Oh, I wouldn't have thought of that, but I see your point. Though the MUCH simpler turns (no counting numbers on my cards) and the heavy narrative make this one feel pretty different in play, I think ;)

Where to find information on how to lay out thread tokens ?
@OneStopCoopShop2 жыл бұрын
You don’t lay them out. The threat icon is printed on the board, and when you move over it you draw a token and resolve it.

I haven't played the game nor read the rules but given the wording on some of the other cards, wouldn't the Snake's spade ability of "suffer 1 damage" mean that the snake takes damage and not you? The very next encounter had it written as "this enemy deals 1 damage" for a spade result making it clear that it applies to the player. Or is it like some games where suffered damage is a bit different than dealt damage (I.e. dealt damage can be blocked but suffered damage can't or something similar)? Edit: I found a single BGG post saying that a spade effect of "suffer x" does apply to the Knight and not the enemy. And I see you've replied, thanks!
@OneStopCoopShop3 жыл бұрын
You got it exactly! "Suffer" is the unpreventable version. I don't think I've seen any enemies that hurt themselves in the game ;)

Mike, I'm a solo player who likes to play coop games as solo games. I'm not clear on the replayability of the base game, since there seem to be few scenarios. I feel I need at least one expansion (which one?) to have plenty of replayability. Am I right? Thanks, - toby
@OneStopCoopShop3 жыл бұрын
So I can't comment much on expansions. I believe I was sent the Kickstarter version of the game, which has at least 1 extra scenario. That being said, most of the scenarios have maybe 3-4 plays in them before you start seeing the same events and things can become repetitive. Of course encounter cards will change, and the character you are playing can make a scenario feel different. So I'd say replay is pretty good, but certainly not infinite!
@malkav11203 жыл бұрын
You were supposed to add the attack dice from the mutant enemy card to yours in the first plot encounter and you didn't.
@OneStopCoopShop3 жыл бұрын

Jesus Christ, Mike. This is awesome. The only thing which looks a bit weird taking that threat token at the very end of your movement action. What about using some home rules? Will the game change much if you stop on your route rogue on the threat hex, then pick a card, play it, then continue? Will it break the game? I just want it to be more thematic.
@OneStopCoopShop3 жыл бұрын
The game system is VERY easy to modify if you want to. That being said, the intended theme is that you fought those enemies and/or suffered those negative effects "on the way" as it were, so it never felt like it was unthematic to me.
@dayoltay3 жыл бұрын
Hey Mike, I've always appreciated your playthroughs and reviews. I was wondering, you still have the game? I'm an avid solo gamer but also like to co op with my girlfriend from time to time. How did you find the co op elements? I heard there isn't much well interaction. The racey mechanic what makes me hesitate the most, I heard about an official sandbox mode going to be released since like forever. I'm such a fan of this channel!
@OneStopCoopShop3 жыл бұрын
The coop is limited, like in most of these adventure games. You are often off doing your own thing, so if you don’t enjoy hearing and reading stuff for each other you might get bored! And yes, open world should be coming. Not sure when though!!!
