Great review of this game. I have not played it yet, but am glad to hear you enjoyed it at 2 players and would recommend it. I was wondering about that. I think I will just break it out and play it with my wife this week to get used to the actions and the rules so when we do play it with more, we will both have one game under our belt. Two minor rules you stated incorrectly when you were going over the game. Since you said this one of your favorites of the year, I wanted to be sure you're playing it correctly, more than "Hey you're teaching this game wrong in your video," since this is a review, not a rules video. At 26:30 when you explain the keys, you said you'd get the big dollar amount when you have the big key and the small amount to the left of the marker if you have the small key. For the small key it's actually the small amount the marker is adjacent to. You gave the example of the blue being worth 70 or 30, when it would actually be 70 or 40, since the marker is adjacent to the small 40. This is explained in the rules on page 28, also confirmed in the example. At 27:40 you explain how to build on the state rail spaces (with the crowns). You say the first person to build there pays the higher amount, and everyone else who wants to build there pays the lower amount to the player who built there first. The other players that build there after the first actually pay everyone else who has already built there the lower amount. This is on page 28 of the rules, second bullet point in the Pay section.

Good clarifications thank you. I actually played the second rule correctly, but I agree my explanation was flubbed. Totally misread the small key payout though. Thanks. I'll sticky this comment so hopefully others can see.

Appreciate your review Joel! Have this coming in the mail this week. Looks like it is right up my alley. The crazy thing too, is the amount of variability due to the randomized setup. Let me know if you ever need an extra player when your testing.

Hey Gregg. Long time. It's been a while, but I guess you moved back up here? Shoot me an email or Geekmail.

Man I wish you did a review of Imperial/Imperial 2030 by Mac Gerdts. It's like one big commentary on capitalism, puppet governments and the shady ways in which proxywars are fueled. I think it would be right up your alley...

I actually, for some reason, don’t care for the Imperial games. It definitely feels like they are something I should like though.

Hi. Thanks for the review of this game. As I am a huuuge fan of Barrage and Brass I really want to get my hands on it. I can't seem to find it anywhere. Do you know the release dates for Europe or US? Where did you get it? Thanks :)

its available in the US from Capstone. I don't think it's available in Europe yet.

I dig how Joel clones himself to calculate playtime.

Ya. I have to be careful. That way lay madness.

I think I read the correct pronunciation of barrage in the context of the engineering the game is based on should be sounding like Marriage. Marriage with a B sound

Thanks for the review Joel. Would you call this game Color blind friendly?
@DriveThruReview2 жыл бұрын
That's a good question. Hard to say. A buddy who is colorblind said it was fine for him, but everyone has a different type.
