One of the biggest reasons why I haven't been back to this game is because of traffic management in vanilla. But I haven't really done much with mods. A suggested mod pack would be greatly appreciated!

First time viewer, hello! As someone whose worked in call centers for years, let me just say, your audience knows when you're smiling, and most customers/viewers like it. Don't apologize for being happy :) At most of these call centers, successful agents have mirrors on their desks to remind themselves to smile. Be happy. I like that you're happy.

20:10 Snowfall player here, Highways don't get plowed. They aren't affected by snow at all. If this were a snowfall map, then upgrading all of the one ways to highway once they're unlocked solves the loop back problem, meaning it can be deleted at that point. Upgrading the one ways to highway also has the added benefit of removing the zoning so you can't accidentally put buildings and services there.

If you really want to keep somewhat realistic with water lines once you get outside of the city to connect to water and sewer, instead of running them under highways run them together with power lines. Quite often a local or state government, in order to keep down how often it has to go through imminent domain proceedings, will get all the utilities together on strip so all the infrastructure is in one corridor. Game wise it also helps so you can remember where your out of town sewer lines are as you expand outward. When I do water towers I do much the same thing.. In-town water towers I usually use the gravel path to the tower (so theoretically the city can access it) and run the sewer under that path back to the main line under the road. More and more, modern subdivision developments are being built where the utilities are run up a thin strip in the back of properties (a small corridor between them is baked into the planning). Only the main lines to the subdivision have the utilities under the road (and maybe some rain run off sewers, but most subs are built with retention ponds where the rain water runs into, then into the sewer main). Since these are only service lines, they are generally smaller and shallower and so only light equipment is needed to dig them up and don't need to tear out and do expensive road work.

Thank you for this series. I'm a noob. Only been playing CS1 since May, caught up in the CS2 hype. Only started adding mods and assets a month ago. I have pre-ordered CS2. I bulit a centrally located transit hub with 10 bus lanes, 4 metro stations and 1 train station. I currently have 10 bus lines, however really only 5 different routes. I'm using 2 lanes for each route, so my 1A and 1B lines are using 2 separate lanes. My plan is to eventually move my 1A and 1B lines to use the same lane and then have the other 5 lanes available for new routes. My concern is that with all the buses that will eventually be coming into this hub, it will eventually create traffic problems. Based on your examples, it looks like I should use the hub for closer areas, but create any new bus lines that service new areas that are far from the hub, but make them share existing stops, or create stops that are close to existing bus stops and don't feel like I always have to return to my main transit hub. I like that, especially because for the farther away routes, there's a lot of wasted bus travel and traffic just to get to the first route stop and from the last stop back to the hub. Or perhaps multiple smaller bus hubs scattered throughout my city? Btw, I think I heard you mention TO in one of your videos. I'm in Mississauga. I know geography doesn't matter, but if I should decide to join a discord server in the future, then perhaps yours would be convenient. I've never joined one b4 so I don't know what is involved and if it is helpful? I'll be 72 at Christmas. I don't know if I can add any value to the group.
