A nice remaster on this lore storyline, with the extra vfx and info. It does bring up further questions on what Daedra the Thalmor affiliate with and to what extent.

"random fucking guy shows up and kills the highest commander of the Aldmeri Dominion" is SO much more interesting than the seemingly "feeble" emperor winning the fight himself! Thank you Bethesda!

This channel is superior to gaming news streamers who seem to be havens for Internet bar fights, always a delight to hear stories and learn. You are the king of lore and for that I bow to you and drink to the continuity of this mastery. Oh no, Boethiah s part in the great war helps the whole thing to make sense. Especially the prophecy of the culling only adds to why it happened at all, basically all major events in the elder scrolls revolve around the prophesies in the Elder Scrolls themselves.

What i hope for in TES 6 is the Aldmeri Dominion is split into two goals. The first Goal is gain to take over all of Tamriel and rule under a second Merethic era. The second goal is a secret cult of Daedra worshipers that consist of High ranking Thalmor officials, that are descendants of the Alyied elves who fled back to summerset after the Alessian rebellion. Lord Narrafin could have been one of these descendants, which explains why he went crazy taking over Cyrodil, instead of joining his forces with lady Arenellea as instended to take over Hammerfell.

I really liked that story, the only thing that I'm kinda iffy is where the emperor himself didn't recapture the imperial city

I have to wonder if Naarifin was like, a rogue agent. Like, the Thalmor as a whole don't seem to be too on board with the daedra, maybe Naarifin was like a weird cultist. Because like, the other implication is that the Thalmor as a whole are being puppeted by the daedra and that makes them less interesting to me. Like, they might be extremists, but they have legitimate grievances against the empire. If it turns out it was all just some daedra plot, idk, that's just less interesting. The story of this game is really cool though

In my head canon after the Great War and during the events of Skyrim the the Vigilant of Stendar are fighting a shadow war against the thalmor after hearing reports of Daedric activity they’re not wrong by the time the dawnguard fox begins the thalmor would retaliate and used vampires as a coverup there are even rumors that the Thalmor commander is a Vampire (daughter of coldharbor)

Altmeraboos dislike any lore that shows the vulnerability of their precious Thalmor, but canon is canon.

One thing about the Thalmor’s elven supremacy claim, in truth they only care about their supremacy. They don’t really care about the bosmer, dunmer, orsimer, or even their own altmer kind. They do not hesitate to kill anyone man or mer that disagrees with them and their beliefs and I think they even have talked down about their bosmer cousins in the game as well as regular Dominion forces. So in short they claim elven supremacy but really only want Thalmor supremacy.

I never liked people just being labeled "hero's" there has to be ulterior motives, everyone is in a grey area.
@akaikeki21993 ай бұрын
The motives of an action don't really impact WHY someone is labeled a hero. It's always the outcome of said action that determines the label.

I didn't mind the Daedric connection in Legends. Mostly because from in game books I always got hte impression that it was like that. The Empire was stronger and the Dominion Weaker. Because they point out that the Dominion's tactics (and what we see in game) was basically based on subterfuge and corruption. They bribed local nobles to their cause before the war. They assassinated people who would be stubborn and steadfast loyalists. They arranged for spies inside cities to disable the defenses, etc. They weren't winning straight up battles when it came to Army against Army. They were winning the war through espionage and covert operations. And as soon as the Covert Operations all played out, they burned all their contacts and assets, etc. That's when the Empire brings its force to bear and won their victories. So for me the Legends stuff about how the Daedra were involved in giving aid to the Dominion is.. kinda par for the course? I never saw them as a "military" threat. I saw them as a Covert and Spy threat. If they were getting covert information to plan ambushes to defeat the otherwise superior Imperial Legions with that advantage like they had cracked the Enigma Machine in WW2? That's entirely fitting and I could have seen them doing it after they burned their initial advantages in taking the Imperial City. At least that's what I always got out of it.

I agree my friend. Bad Guy are always like this; they lie, cheat, poison, backstab etc. They are a dishonorable and cowardly. So, of course, when they run out of tricks, then, they cannot stand to what The Good Guy have on ther side: Rightousness.
