But no walls can stop such a rain that keeps on falling forever more. (Bombs and fallout) I was told that by the sixth day, the Earth was like an open sore." Being scorched by bombs. the same can be said about the rise and fall of any regime. Babylon is an ancient parable. Connect the dots with any event past antiquity so on and so on. Hell of a story if it was true though. Hell of a flood happened back then even in ice core samples. The people probably thought it was god. Maybe one or two survived to tell the tale of the end of the world.

Ghost did a fantastic cover on the english version of this song. However to beat the original swedish version would simply be impossible. To swedes it's such an iconic song due to the theme and its release during the the cold war. Even though the swedish lyrics are far superior, the fear of war, nuclears and mass destruction do shine through in the english version as well. "And a rain fell over the land" - "There are no walls to stop such a rain"

Absolutely stunning song. While I credit Ghost for introducing me to this, it is clear that the song belongs to Joakim Thåström - whose passion is unmatched. I'd change some of the translation to English, and agree that the quoting of "God" at the end of the Ghost version is an unnecessary addition. I'd love to go back to my 80s club kid days and catch an Imperiet gig.

Honestly it shows how brilliant Ghost is, mainly Tobias Forge at finding these songs and reworking them in such a way that sound so much better than the originals. Ghost has found a sound that can genuinely cover most songs with a religious context and own it as their own. Or even any decade song, because of the instrumentation and his voice. They could do pop covers from the 80’s and kill it.

The song is about the creation, days mixed around for poetic purpose. But, it's ultimately a statement of how the world is now, to the beginning of humanity. Babylon represented the creation progressing so much that it thought it was it was it's "own god", but yet Babylon was destroyed. But humanity continued to get worse toward one another and the peace that was present at the beginning, is now gone. Who would prey for Babylon? Write a song to Babylon? The Bible says to love your enemy and pray for them, right? What would happen if everyone prayed for Satan to see the error of his ways and repent, and stop swaying peoples minds in a destructive and diversive way?.. do NOT do this! I tried it, and my life fell apart. 3 years later and I'm still digging myself out of the financial, emotional abuse, and physical abuse hole I ended up in. If you want to know tge true nature of Satan, pray for him as you have been instructed to do with your enemy... I didn't know what would happen when you go after the number ONE enemy that isn't human...oops. blaming God, ok, nothing happens, you just won't get help. Blaming others, it's between you and them, blaming yourself, now you're just being crazy. But I DARE YOU, pray for Satan to see tge error of his ways and repent and stop the evil against humanity and guiding society's thoughts.... at THIS point, you will see HARM done to you. A cheating spouse? Layoff from work? A gun pointed in your face, to rob you when you were just trying to buy a 20 Oz redbull?... try it.. but you can't fake this. I did this in sincerity. Don't try it mockingly. But sincerely try it... but I warn you, your life will crumble. So who will pray for Babylon or sing a song for Babylon as the song suggests? Unless you want your great life to stop...NOONE... yet, those who have a "great life" here, have already received their reward, and those who have suffered here, shall be comforted... the path is up to you.. pray for your enemy, or condemn them... what do you choose?
@DerDrako2 жыл бұрын
First: Satanists do not pray. At least not in the same way as christians do, even if they are theistic. They do not beg for anything. They demand things. But second: About one year after I started to "pray for satan" as you would call it, I lost the person I loved the most to death, I believe. No one knows for sure what was the reason. I cannot blame Satan. It might just be a coincedence. I have known for her illness.
