I loved this game when I was young! I can't remember all of it now....but I do remember that after a certain point your fleets are just unstoppable death.

I deeply appreciate the informative and sardonic tone, really reminds of a good informative screenshot LP from back in the day. Great stuff, Sage! It's soo interesting to hear in English because a little bit different than the original Hungarian version. As i see here are more rendered videos and less live action videos. It was one of my favourite game when i was 14. Of course there were others too like C&C, Warcrafts, Tomb Rider etc. Thx for the upload!

I found IG2 first, and that got me to eventually figure out how to play the original. Lots of similar themes.

Been a long, long time since I did anything with this. I actually somehow ended up with a French disc 2 when I had the hard copy of it back in the Win95/98 days. I think I've actually got the entire series about, this one, IG2 and what was to be IG3 but got turned into… was it Nexus the Jupiter Incident or Haegmonia Legions of Iron? It was one of those I'm fairly sure. In terms of tricks for this, I seem to recall you could only build one R&D lab on a planet and needed something like 6-9 of each type for top tier techs, and I think in this bit or the next one after dealing with fixing Achilles' buildings, you can get an extra ship for free, not sure if it was before or after the first 'level up' of your command ship off hand.

Nexus is the game that was supposed to be IG3 at one point. One dev centre per planet is right, though that won't come up for a while yet. Free ships - there's reinforcements from your CO, but that's all I know about in the early ranks.

@@strategicsage7694 Yeah, you need to be around rank 3 for the R&D, I think. Fairly sure it's after getting the first tier flagship that you get research unlocked. If I recall right, the first bit is rebuild Achilles, fight off an attempted invasion and a plague. During that period somewhere you get an escort mission and can later get that ship as reinforcements. I think it's a DD2 while you're currently in a DD1. Your first rank gives you a CR1 and production along with more planets.

@@strategicsage7694 Oh... Thinking about it I'm pretty sure I only actually played Imperium Galactica 2. Then IG3 went to dev hell and turned into something totally differen.

loved that game still play it today sometimes. but its somekind buggy.. sometimes the first invasion dont comes or the hospital ship crisis dont ends.

Man, I love seeing weird, old 3D-animation. For some reason, it's quite endearing.

It can hit you right in the feels, from a nostalgia point of view. There was a time period where they made cinematics that actually looked worse than doing it another way, but did it anyhow because it was cool new technology etc.

Were those robots at the end the same kind from the Judge Dredd movie?

I think they were supposed to be fairly generic, they're not too different from some of the Terminator ones either. But I don't really know.
