People poke fun at E to extrude, S to scale, but it really shows how simple the process can be. We don’t always need the complex tools. Sometimes those two hotkeys are enough :) Thanks for the series! I’ve been going harder into Unity and this’ll be VERY helpful to pump out assets easier :)

How to use another material to mesh after importing from blender to unity .fbx? I use uv pixel map to color my mesh. I want to use the same mesh with different color in unity editor. When I create a new material and add to the on demand material it turn into white. How can I use more material on same mesh without creating new mesh and material?

Imphenzia's palette and settings make the low polys look great, does anybody know if it is possible to bake this look?
@Imphenzia3 жыл бұрын
I've been trying to replicate in game but no success yet. I have tried with custom shader and a texture approach but it never looks as clean. One way to get the shiny edges is to bevel slightly and set the small bevels to a brighter color. But that only covers one of the cavity settings. Will make a video if I find a good way in Unity.

For some reason my first major Blender project was a fictional space craft. Long story short, that was 8 months ago, I'm still working on it. Either way, I've been doing some other low poly stuff in the meantime, heavily inspired by your videos, and I still can't work out just how you get that edge shading on your models Edit: oops just noticed the settings video in the description lol

I've been binge watching all of your videos and following along with the blender/unity tutorials, and I ran across an error that I'm not sure you covered that might be useful in a future tutorial video: Your coloring method doesn't import properly into Unity if the texture file you use is of a size that is not a power of 2. I had a 5px x 5px color pallette and the colors that were showing in Unity were always incorrect compared blender. Now that I made the texture 8px x 8px everything is working the way it does in your videos.
@Imphenzia3 жыл бұрын
Good to know, i have always used power of 2 from habit so I never tried other res.
@glennclapp25373 жыл бұрын
@@Imphenzia Yeah, I'm a mechanical engineer so I'm a bit of a hack at this stuff. But while I was trouble shooting the issue, I noticed that there was an optimization that Unity does that basically *assumes* your texture is a power of 2. So your intuition is right on target. I did have one question since I'm lucky enough to have your ear at the moment. Is it possible to use your coloring method AND apply a texture to a model? I'm thinking a car that is colored using this method that has a decal for example. Thanks! Keep up the good work.

Off topic I know, but I was a huge C64 fan, and your outro music is just so 8-bit sounding. I love it. Any tips on creating that sound for the melody? I have started learning the Reaper DAW recently and would love to do some retro 8-bit type music.
@Imphenzia3 жыл бұрын
Hey, if you ask me that is on topic :D glad you feel that way, I am a huge Amigaland C64 music fan and always have inspiration from that era. I could do a video where I show this very track in my DAW maybe?
@MarkMc99993 жыл бұрын
@@Imphenzia That would be awseome. I had a spectrum, then C64 and an Amiga A320. I wrote few unpublished games in 6502/6510 assembler in the C64. Learnt C on the Amiga...Set me up well.
