SFMC How to Create an Email Template in Salesforce Marketing Cloud

Hello Datarati I been trying to search for some content on salesforce and being able to create email template on there esp from scratch I'm an email developer and I'm trying to learn salesforce so is there and suggestions or advice you can give on me finding that?.

Great question! Building emails and templates in Salesforce Marketing Cloud is the same as any other ESP - you need to have good HTML/CSS skills to build responsive emails. After that I would look into learning AMPscript - the personalisation language in Marketing Cloud. You'll find plenty of resources (including this channel) to help you understand how AMPscript works.

@@ImplementationGuru Thank you brotha for replying back to me I totally understand html/css I been working with it for several years now. That also makes alot of sense with salesforce being a esp but didnt know AMPscript is where it's at as far as a developer. I'll definitely take a look at your channel and see what you have but out of curiosity do you have a suggestion on what video from your channel I should check out or any other youtube channels?.

Next I would look through the Salesforce Developer Documentation on AMPscript and supporting resources built by the community to help people learn; for example ampscript.guide/ Join groups like www.howtosfmc.com/ and follow Salesforce Community Leaders like www.linkedin.com/in/ghilaire/ to be notified of community events and webinars. If you're getting stuck with a particular problem, try salesforce.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/marketing-cloud and trailblazers.salesforce.com/answers You can also leave a comment for a video idea for us to cover as well!

@@ImplementationGuru Wow that's a lot of information lol seems like I got some homework over this weekend. 😅. I will definitely take a look over this and contact you back with any questions. I do have a personal question hopefully you can be real with me on, so as you can see I dont know much about AMPscript but I do see jobs that are hiring email developers with that skill so my question on that is that a deal breaker not knowing that but know mailchimp?. Also I have my portfolio completely done and I was REALLY curious if you mind taking a look at it and see what you think of me as email developer?.
