This video is all about the steps you need to take to get all the paperwork (documents) ready before you can take your pet to Malaysia.
We will also be showing you how the quarantine rooms look like and what you can expect from it. (Quarantine station Batu Muang)
Last month we crossed the border from Thailand to Malaysia with our furry friend @foxbodyzara.
What are the steps for the import?
1. Get all the vaccinations and export permit (see below)
2. Book a quarantine room and caretaker
3. Get the import permit
Step 1. What are the requirements that your dog/pet needs before you can request the import permit?
Make sure that the pet vaccinations are up to date.
-Rabies vaccine.
-DHP+L4 vaccine.
-Parvo virus/influenza.
-Microchip identification number.
-Vaccination records / Pet Passport.
-Health certificate.
Step 2. Quarantine booking and caretaker.
-Email the AQS that you want for your pet with the expected arrival date.
-Approval letter
We also needed an approval letter from the headquarters for our dog’s quarantine. This was because we wanted to transport her to another AQS instead of at the border itself.
-Caretaker.
Ask the AQS where your dog/pet will be spending the quarantine time, they will know a local caretaker.
-Maqis escort service
Contact the officers at the border that you are arriving at they can make sure that there is an escort available. If you are coming from Thailand that is Pedang Besar AQS.
Step 3. Import permit.
- Cief Pets.
We used the service of CIEF Pets, because they are one of the few companies that were offering the service of assisting with only the import permit.
