I remember this trend from the 1980s in the "Color Me Beautiful” days. Interesting how all of these trends come back eventually ~ I do find it helpful and know there are colors that look better on each of us, and contrast for personal taste and style. Thanks for doing this video!

Nature makes no mistakes in my opinion. The color you are born with is your perfect color. I am going gray now and the tones suit me perfectly. Society has programmed us to believe we need to alter our natural state to fit in. So i say do what you want but its all a waste of time and energy and frustration as it doesn't even matter, Be happy with what nature gifted you with

I have been going gray since I was 22. I have had my hair pretty much every color out there. Why? Because I can. I do not look good with gray hair, at all. I have let it grow out all gray after shaving my head and it just looked all kinds of wrong on me. I am 56 years old and I don't give a damn about what anyone else says, and of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion but for me I love having different hair colors. And no I can't wear wigs, they give me headaches.

I feel this video next level . All my life I choose my looks according to those principals.weather its clothes , make up or hair colour. Little background , I am pale olive skin brunette with dark brown eyes. Would say level 3 or 4, but I am Slavic so my hair is very ashy, which makes it appear less dark if that makes sense . Anyway, I can’t pull off black hair for some reason , but going one shade darker with my hair puts me in the best contrast for myself. I look great in bold bright colours . It doesn’t mean I can’t wear neutrals , I sure can, but here is the tip I have for everybody. Guys, scarves , pashminas and bandanas are your best friends . It doesn’t matter what colours you wear as long as you have correct hair colour and the colours text to your face are the best for you, meaning the correct tone and intensity. Bright hot pink and orange scarf or even black always saves my look. At the end of the day what is next to your face or on your face truly matters. Get yourself a scarf or right colour of lipstick even if you don’t dye your hair and they will make your face appear brighter and fresh .

There were four of us siblings. One of my sisters was the only one who took her very dark curly hair from my parents. She is definitely high contrast with her blue/gray eyes and very pale skin with the dark hair. She looked amazing in red and black also. Genetics is can certainly be surprising. Another sister and I always had blonde hair (still keep it blonde) and my brother had more of a sandy color. Two very dark brown-haired parents with the blonde children.🤔

Love this! I was butter blonde as kid and now a dark blonde… I’m trying to go back to dark blonde but I’m experiencing the same issue as you! Although I really liked your dark blonde with lighter around the face! As you did with 7 EQ shades. What I have found is that leaving roots (lived in highlights) works much better when using a lighter blonde… to me it “matches” my eyes and brows.

Thank you Silvia 💐, very interesting topic! I, too have hazel eyes and a fair skin, I prefer lighter hair. More so as my natural hair is a dull medium blonde/ brown/ash. Well, that is what it looks to me. Unfortunately I was never able to determine my overall coloring, just know too cool blonde does not suit me, neither a golden tone. That is why I love your beige toning formula so much. Best color ever ever! But looking forward to your next video nonetheless. Always interesting to see your advice.

I am definitely low contrast. Though I color my hair blonde, I have always been blonde. If I am not blonde enough, I don't feel right even though I do like contrast to my hair. I am fair skin and blue eyes.

This was much more helpful than reading a color quiz which generally leave me confused. I'm in my mid level brown phase of life. Brown eyes, brown hair (level 6 dyed with salon color) and fair/freckled skin. Sometimes I think about putting some blonde through the brown but then I shudder at the extra maintenance that would create. My hair loves to oxidize and turn orange.

Too rich of a contrast looks extreme also so my question is what options are best for the mid range? My hair leans reddish brown naturally and was questioning going more red but still maintaining a brunette look.

I think warmer golden tones look best on most people, however most people prefer Ash tones which makes them look older and drabbier looking… good info tho, thanks!
@roselynmvmАй бұрын
It’s not necessarily that most people prefer ash tones, but people confused ash tones with neutrals, and that’s the issue. Neutral is usually what looks best on most people. But people have this distorted view probably because most ash tones become neutral after multiple washes so it doesn’t get brassy as easily. And brassy is really hard to pull off for anyone. Someone really cool-toned skin would never look good with warmer golden hair but can get away with a neutral hair tone.

I have a fair bit of green veins but also some blue thrown in. I have a very slight golden undertone. I usually go for a more mid tone blonde with my hair but last time she dyed it quite blonde and it felt like too much. I was thinking of going a bit darker but like yourself I do not like my hair all one colour. Should I just add in some low lights?
@EllebangsАй бұрын
Thanks for sharing!! You sound like mid contrast with a neutral skin tone maybe a slight olive tone!? I have an olive undertone even though i am so fair skin. We tend to think of Olive as a tanned skin tone and it doesn’t have to be. Adding contrast to your hair would be a good idea, lo lights are fine but i think a more modern way is a shadowed root or a reverse balayage.

Unsolicited advice: You would look much better with darker hair in a cool, ashy brown shade. I have similar colouring to you, and am washed out by any pale shades, and any warmth makes my skin look greenish. Match your hair shade to the limbal ring of your eye. Enjoy it while you are young, as your colouring (including eye colour) will naturally fade with age.
