Namaskaram. Sandilya gotram has five and seven rishis found in pravaram list. Sandilya rishi is said to be son of Kasyapa, who has three rishis pravaram. Whereas sandilya gotram owners in north states living may not have chance to inform in southern side people during marriage selection time. Mostly all think kasyapa gotram is different from sandilya gotram. So there is a chance of concluding marriages. Is there any prayaschitya required.?

Another question.: In marriage selection bureau many advt appears viswamitra gotram and Goutama gotram under separate heads. Are they to be considered different or one & same? So every brahmin family heads or brahmin marriage fixing agencies should provide or publish gotra pravaram in all their reference lists . Any advice?

Point no. 1 viswamithra and gouthama are totally two different two identities. Hence no confusion. For viswamithra gothra pravaram includes agamarshana and kowsika. You cannot match in between viswamithra or agamarshana or kowsika, naturally you will opt for other gothras, which are clubbed with these three.
