Important changes to Visit Japan Web from January 25, 2024!

Exciting News for Japan Travelers!
The immigration and customs procedures using Visit Japan Web just got easier. From January 25, 2024, the old QR codes will non longer be valid and you need to get a new one.
Before the changes, you needed 1 QR code for Immigration and 1 QR code for the Customs. Now, you only need 1 QR code for both! Please be careful because if you got your QR code before this date, you have to do the procedure again on the website.

The QR code is only for the entry procedures. You don’t need it when leaving Japan.

It is recommended, but only you can decide. Health care in Japan can be expensive, so if you’re covered, you can travel without worries.

Good information! I have 1 question - Since I am vegetarian, can I carry with me cooked food and snacks? How do I declare this to customs? Also what about carrying regular medicines for fever, pain etc? How is that supposed to be declared? Thanks

Do i need to put 30days on duration of stay in days because i have multiple entry visa, or 5 days only because i booked only for apr21-25

Each time you enter Japan, you need to fill these forms. If you are going to stay for 5 days during your first visa entry, then you put 5 days in the form. The next time you enter Japan, you fill the forms again with the number of days for the next stay. Hope this helps.

Please notice that the online forms are not mandatory because you can fill the paper forms upon arrival. Also, depending on your country and reason for going to Japan, you might need a Visa.

You can do it months in advance. The only thing to keep in mind is that you will need to regenerate the QR code if the answer to any question in the forms has changed since you last filled it.
