I've used an earlier version and I just have to ask: Does this version finally allow truly dynamic dynamics? As in, can the volume of a note change while the note is still sounding? Because that's something which was notably missing in the version I was using. The only way to change the volume of a note was to actually stop playing the note and re-start it.

@@elephantgrass631 look at blender, it's not an industry standard, far from it, but some people prefer to use it when they're not constrained by the studio pipeline and all the plugins and MEL scripts which force them to use other software. I don't know how long it's gonna take for studios to incorporate blender into their toolshed and i don't know if it would happen at all, but when it comes to a personal choice, blender is one of the most loved and used pieces of free and open source software. @alexr39122 жыл бұрын
I do have one suggestion that applies specifically to a niche that no other digital audio workstation accomplishes very efficiently, and it’s for alternate tunings. While Musescore currently allows altering tuning of notes by cents, creating some sort of standard that you can change, so that, for example, any B will have the same tuning adjustment when you place it, or so that notes with the customizable accidentals can also have a set tuning standard, would be very useful. This would be extremely helpful for composing in alternate tuning systems, especially ones where, for instance, sharps and flats are different notes (eg G# and Ab), which is currently quite a pain.
@BrassPlayr2 жыл бұрын
You can just select all of the notes with the selection filter and change them at the same time in the side panel.

The current implementation of the playback engine assumes a single instance usage of it. Just opened Musescore 4 for the first time and the playback is completely broken. Instruments are playing 2 or maybe 3 octaves lower than written with the new muse sounds and the program just crashed when I wanted to playback a trumpet line that I wrote. Additionally if you are importing a musescore 3 file somehow the tempo gets fucked up and there is no quick way to fix it. And lastly in Muse Hub it does not show what kind of sounds you have already downloaded. If you click on them again it just says "downloading", if you pause and restart the download the programm realizes that the sound file was already downloaded (just a minor issue). Please fix those issues! Otherwise it looks like an absolutely amazing update and it is getting closer to other very costly notaion software. Keep working, I am looking forward to the new updates!

As someone primarily interested in writing and editing scores, I don't see anything here that addresses my long-standing problems with Musescore. Copying segments of music and pasting them with all the bar types, repeats, etc. intact is apparently STILL NOT available. I write exercises that need to be played in many keys, and it is incredibly time consuming and difficult to copy more than a few measures, then transpose them, then have to go and redo all of the barline changes and other things that get lost. I still don't see how to control where the end of a stave is on the page, or separate it from other staves on a page. Think of one measure all by itself. Why does it have to stretch across the page and stick to all the other measures??? Or am I missing something. There is so much I need. It appears that none of those things have been addressed here. It's fine, I know there is a huge playback user base, and I appreciate that some releases are going to primarily for specific segments. But, in the future, it would be nice to 1) be able to copy and past music with ALL the characteristics of the staves, 2) Be able to end a staff anywhere I choose on the page, and have it be complete separate from other staves on the page, and 3) Be able to enter text of different sizes and boldness anywhere on the page, not just linked to a staff or system, or lyrics, etc. Finally, couldn't we possibly have the ability to drop OBJECTS on the page, not just text? Sometimes a special diagram of a finger patterns and other things that are not exactly music can be helpful when developing a Method. There are so many other things I would like to have musescore capture and the reproduce in the PDF when printing the score. A tiny mpeg that plays the correct sound for an exercise, showing in a button and being available in the PDF so that it can be used by students on any platform would be an example. I can do all this by using a pdf editor, but it would be ever so nice if Musescore supported people developing musical education materials in this way.
@jt_jeetee Жыл бұрын
1) is a long-standing request and unfortunately indeed still not available 2) You can add horizontal frames and size them as you want since MS2. Your measures will take up the remaining space 3) You can add text to frames as well and position it anywhere you want from there. This works both with horizontal and vertical frames. For just a page paragraph there is the specialized Text Frame available as well (all since MS2, seems like you've been waiting a long time to ask your questions :'( ) 4) Images can be attached to frames as well, other objects are unlikely to become implement inside MuseScore natively.

Software for almost any purpose is usually unavailable for casual users, because it is simply not affordable, unless you really use it on a daily basis! So we have to make up for it with freeware, which gets the job done somehow but it is always clunkier, uglier, requires work-in-time, is less conventionally used (harder to find help or tutorials + difficulties with file formats). So you have no idea how grateful I am that muse score just offers an amazing software for free! Now with an even more user friendly UI and up to date design, it honestly looks heaps better than some of the expensive payed software I'm using and it's the best freeware I've come across so far. No compromises! I've been using muse score 2 and 3 for a long time as a hobby and I can't believe a company ACTUALLY did a good thing for once and made it even better! I love Musescore and have used it in past schools. Now I'm faced with classes fitted out with ipads :( is there a version of musescore that can be used on ipads or online?
