Important Life Update + Art Journal Tutorial 🎨 Pen and Watercolor Sketchbook

Hi everyone, today I'm sharing with you these past 10 days of my life dealing with a critical life situation. I continue to sketch in my sketchbook these days to combat the difficult days full of emotions. On this day, I was finally able to calm down more and finish one page in a day. I sat in the kitchen and sketched a carton of creamer, ketchup packets, and DuDu laying down in the basement.
🎨 Materials I used:
Sailor's fude fountain pen
Noodler's Brown 41 Ink (to fill the fountain pen)
Mungyo watercolors
Etchr Mix-Media A4 size Landscape Sketchbook
Holbein Water Brush (large tip)
Holbein water brush (medium tip)

Our pets become part of our life no matter how lazy or naughty they are. It's normal to worry when things go wrong but a relief when things come good. Dudu in this case. Happy to know you're ok too and thankful you're able to concentrate somewhat during Dudu's healing and recovery. I started basic sketching only a few months ago after watching you with dialogue about your sketches. Your style appealed to me. I also copied you in getting myself a Sailor pen like yours and I like using it. I do need some practice with colour wash since I have just a lot of line work for now. Prior to sketching I had no idea how deep and wide the art world is with paints, pens, inks and papers. Very overwhelming. Take care Becky and wishing Dudu a full recovery.

Oh Becky, I'm so happy you have DuDo in your life again. I can't imagine the nightmare you were living not knowing where he was. It's a tough world out there. So many of my neighbors have had cats gone missing. We've held search parties and been on the neighborhood lookout but so many stories are unresolved or have sad endings. I have dogs so they are mostly inside where I can watch them or outdoors when I'm with them. Sending love and gratitude for Dudu's safe return. Remind Dudu, stay close, the grass doesn't get any greener than home. XO to you and yours.

Oh Becky, I am SO sorry that DuDu and you had to go through that. I have 5 animals and they're all like my children. I understand the frantic worrying and stress completely. I will be praying for all of you. Maybe after this he can change to just an "inside cat"? 💞😻

Becky, my heart goes out to you and DuDu , I know the trauma you've both gone through. A few years ago our little dog was freightened by the fireworks on the 4th of July and ran. She was gone for four days. We searched night and day for her, finally found her. She couldn't walk because the pads of her feet were burnt so badly... nothing like the injury DuDu suffered but the overall trauma was dificult for our family. I hope you both heal quickly .

I’m so sorry about your dear cat. I lost my darling young cat to kidney failure yesterday and I sure wish there was a surgery that could have let him live. I’m thankful your boy will live!

So sorry for your loss! I lost my sweet little girl, Iggy, last summer to kidney failure. Time does heal. I can finally talk about her and remember all her sweetness with a smile instead of tears. In the meantime, try a little journaling about her. I drew little pictures of her (I am not a good artist but that didn't matter) and jotted down all kinds of little things she did that I loved. I cried my eyes out while doing it, but it was also healing.

@@mariac4602 oh I’m so sorry about Iggy 😭 it’s so heartbreaking to lose these little ones who are such a huge part of our daily lives. Thank you for the encouragement. I’m embarrassed to keep crying- especially in light of the craziness and brokenness all around the world. But he was very special to me and I know there will never be another quite like him. The most snuggly and sweet and intelligent cat I’ve ever had- and I’ve had nearly 60 years of life with pets.

I'm so sorry to hear you and Dudu have been through such trauma! I have a little dog, Cali who is just a year and a half old. She ate some Daisies and buttercups about 2 weeks ago and we thought she would die; she was extremely sick. I stayed up for several nights, crying and praying that she would be okay. I can only imagine how upset you were with poor Dudu in such a condition! I'm so glad Dudu is getting better and hope he will not have any lasting effects. Hugs to you and Dudu!❤❤❤❤

Poor DuDu….prayers for his recovery. Sounds like he needs to become an indoor kitty because now he will never be fast enough to avoid other more aggressive male cats in the area. I am so sorry to hear about DuDu 🥹 .. That must've been so scary for you and your family not knowing where he was for so long. I think I would have gone crazy. 🥹Thank goodness he was found and able to be saved 🙏🏼.. It angers me that vets are sometimes so quick to tell pet parents to put them to sleep. Sorry to hear about DuDu's injuries. We live on a main Rd and have lost two cats due to their roaming onto the road. Our cat Luna is an indoor cat, I never thought I would keep a cat in all the time but it's better than the heartbreak of losing her. I hope Dudu gets better and stays closer to you. ❤
