RIP Momo :( I know hedgehogs are not closely related to hamsters, but they remind me a lot of each other, and I kept hamsters for years. Unfortunately their very short life span got to me, and I can’t keep them anymore. They’re such good pets but they’re just not with us long enough. It makes me very glad that I now have animals (a snake and two geckos) that will be with me for a very long time.

I’m sorry to hear about Momo😢 my hedgehog died when she was around 2 years old due to uterine cancer. And damn Gypsy lol I always forget birds can live super long lives like dang lol I hope that her heart condition is manageable for her. It’s great to see you posting again though!

Do u go to any holistic vets for any of ur animals? They r difficult to find where I live locally and I've been going to one for my white cat's iris melanosis that has been progressing all over his rights eye since he was 1 year old. He is now 5 years old and I've been trying to use food as medicine (tried responsible raw food from Big Country Raw, freeze dried raw, chlorella, goat's milk kefir, and healthy wet canned food from Rawz and supplements from the holistic vet) but nothing has been successful in reversing and healing his melanosis. I dont want it to turn into melanoma. Ive seen people successfully reverse their cat's cancer taking the holistic approach with their diet. My sister healed her chihuahua dental decay and heart murmur with the raw food diet. Im sharing this in a comment in case anyone reading is going through a similar experience.

I do believe in the holistic approach to anything, but I'm not sure raw food is the solution. The holistic solutions I've either tried on myself or on my pets have always had some sort of explanation behind them, a scientific explanation. So here's my question, a cat is a completely domestic animal, why would you give it mostly raw food? What does it gain from it? I think raw meat is harder to digest and that might create deficiencies if your cat has already a preexisting condition that doesn't allow it to absorb certain vitamins as well as they should. I've taken the time to actually look this up for you as I'm not really a cat owner, and I really want to help. I want to start off by saying that apparently, this disease is linked to DNA, but we'll see if something happens. For feline iris melanosis, consider omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, bilberry, turmeric, milk thistle, homeopathic remedies (Silicea, Calcarea Fluorica), acupuncture, supplements like lutein, zeaxanthin, and taurine, on top of all this, make sure your cat isn't too stressed. This is what I found online, of course, you can go to a regular vet if you can't find a holistic one, for check-ups and to monitor your cat's progres, so that we don't actually hurt it.

Jipsy reminds me of my macaw how pased last month she had cancer and she kept plucking her feathers out she couldn't fly and she was in a lot of pain
