Yours is one of the only channels I see that truly does Weston A Price and GAPS recipes. There are millions of gardening channels out there and while they are wonderful, Im a gardener, homesteader, homeschooling mom too and have small amounts of time to spend on the internet. When I get on I want it to really count for me, which is WAP/GAPS recipe ideas that have helped my family so much. Thank you!

I think YOU are truly your niche. Honestly... whatever you do - the recipes etc. - I think you just need to keep showing your real self. I know we don't even know each other, but each time I see your face on the video I just feel so connected and happy to "see," you again - as strange as all that sounds. I think just keep being the niche yourself... and giving great content.

Thanks for a wonderful & real video today, Marisa! Loved hearing your kiddos in the background. I love all of your videos, but would love to see more nourishing recipes, including lots of the obscure recipes from the Nourishing Traditions book! Also would love more GAPS recipes, and more preconception, pregnancy, & postpartum content as well. Thanks for all you do in providing such amazing content for us viewers ❤️

(Wife typing) Hi Marisa! I hope you are able to see this even a month later. Could you please do a video on how you personally find and choose children's clothes, blankets, and especially toys? We live in such a toxic world, and I see a lot of your children's items seem very high quality. Thank you! -Maggie

I personally really enjoy the what we eat in a day videos. I also really loved the baby and toddler updates you did with your son a couple of years ago. I would love to see more content like that! I have a 1.5 year old, so I guess that’s just my season of life. I have also been hoping you would do more content on sourdough. Maybe you aren’t currently baking it. There just are not a lot of videos out there about how to make bread the nourishing traditions way- truly whole wheat, freshly ground, sourdough, etc. I think it would be a nice addition to your channel and help a lot of people!

Yeah, I'm good with GAPS diet stuff, natural living like soap and other alternative lifestyle choice things, gardening, pasture raising animals, what do you feed them.. homesteading/farming and I'm also interested in how you raise kids, too, like in regards to technology, behavior and discipline. you have an interesting way of parenting, though I haven't seen it explained too much. Raising a kid in a world like this where lots of kids eat bad stuff constantly and are addicted to technology, grow up with bad morals and bad communication skills.. I worry a lot about where society is going and that's one reason why we feel that we need to ditch the city. I'd love to hear your opinions on that. I'd be interested in all of these things. It is so supportive to see someone else living in a direction in which I know I want & need to go. We live in a city now and are hoping to move to a homestead, build a house and learn to raise animals, etc. I'm interested in composting toilets, composting and other things too, like if you use or make an alternative dishwasher or laundry washing machine soaps. water filter, or water information, natural water, interested in all of that. Interested in tooth decay maintenance efforts, if you have experience with teeth.. Support with that / sharing in general about that would be great. Yes it can be so overwhelming to start GAPS! very. It turns out I was making meat stock wrong for 2 years. I've rewatched your videos on this many times. But my broth still doesn't gel. When it does get jelly, it gels a little, jiggles, but never is like what you've described. Yours seemed to stay in a jar if you hold it upside down, didn't it? Mine is in a mixing bowl so maybe that's different, but it is a lot more like .. uh, between jam and jello consistency. Anyway, so I went back to the books and realized I need to buy more connective tissue, I need meat and bones from farms. So that's why I'm not seeing the speed of progress that I wanted, because I didn't have enough connective tissue. I haven't gotten connected with a farm yet, all I've tried is meat and bones from whole foods. I recently learned that I can make it from chicken wings, which are frequently available, and chicken feet, which are only available sometimes. I would like a more frequent source for chicken feet. I looked on azure standard and it was a big price! Idk... looking for something cheaper. I'd also like to hear about detoxing. how to live without toxins/ a less toxic lifestyle. Do you still use polyester in your home? what do you do for washing dishes? I think about that.. should I switch to a homemade detergent? what chemicals are in seventh generation dish soap and how bad is it? How much does it stay on dishes and then we eat it? Sodium laurel sulfate is one that I know causes cells to move apart.. I think it'd be cool if you could show other people what candida yeast look like in scientific research papers! likewise epithelial cells.. I researched those and found some images awhile ago, and loved seeing the pictures, drawings and diagrams from these articles. At the time I was researching sinusitis and depression, candida, keto and vitamin deficiencies, etc. but I imagine that's out of your purview. that's ok. the no - plant gaps interview was awesome. I'd like to hear more about your migraine story, I don't think I've seen that. Beef liver kept your migraines away?! because of B vitamin problems? wow. I'd love a whole video on that, honestly. My friend has chronic migraines. I got her to buy the GAPS book, yes!, but she wouldn't listen to this whole video just to find your one section on that. But she would listen if it was in the title. I'd love to witness you buying 1/4 or 1/2 or a whole cow share. We want to but we're nervous. Pretty soon I'm going to make soap, which will be just tallow and lye. I'm a little nervous because I haven't seen that done before with such minimal ingredients. I'm avoiding shea butter, coco butter, olive oil, etc etc .. Day in the life videos, restarting gaps stages, and pregnancy/postpartum stuff. it's all great. Thank you for sharing. Another thing I'm interested in is nonviolent communication skills. I find that very interesting and wonder if you have things to say on it, things you do. Self sufficiency, great topic I'm also worried about the world. This is weighing on my heart. like the US, and health of our society.. with all the food modern society is eating, and with poverty in the mix.. so much abnormal gut flora! throw technology and video game addiction in the mix.. Specifically I think that shootings, aggression, autism, attention span issues, infertility, and gender dysmorphia will all continue to rise. And it's all from GAPS. I'm worried that in 1-3 generations, it will very soon be a dire, apocalyptic or postapocalyptic situation kind of like that zombie show "one of us." I have been thinking a lot about how I'd like the presidential office to know about dr. Natasha's books. I'd like to send them the books. Maybe that would get their priorities straight. Maybe they'd care more about what regulations impact health, food dyes, FDA and EPA stuff, and what foods we're feeding kids in free lunches, pesticides and laws about pesticides and toxins, lies and corruption about cholesterol and fat, lies about blood sugar and ozempic.. big pharma not caring that everyone is ill because they're making big bucks on us. etc. Will humanity lose its ability to produce future generations? At what point will everyone have a long list of diseases, for their whole lives? Obesity, tooth decay, anxiety, depression, IBS, food allergies, Alzheimer's, cancer, dementia, .. all those things have already been normalized. This isn't that hard to believe. I'm worried it could get bad enough that shootings, infertility, gender dysmorphia, autism, aggression and ADHD will be all normalized. I think when behavior differences are normalized, we'll see widespread accommodation and valuing of creativity being the #1 results, and at some point, we will throw politeness, structure, self entertainment, boredom, and critical thinking skills out the window! Eh, but, you know, maybe this is too much for you and that's fine. This is where I'm at. If you have these types of thoughts, and you feel comfortable sharing, I'd love to hear. I also think about how the industrial revolution, oh the great machines.. it's great and all, but at some point will humans not know how to do basic stuff? Like.. tie knots, make wheels, make a lever, create energy like a windmill or watermill, weave, and repair stuff? I think about that a lot too. It's concerning. I worry about the environment too. Plastic in the oceans. What will happen to the animals.. maybe that's not your jam. But maybe you think about these things. If you and your family go plant lots of trees or clean up city trash at an event, I'd want to see. You inspire us to be better too. Similarly I'm interested in alternative cultural choices, like.. I'm not interested in standard birthday parties or really birthdays at all. so much materialism, consumerism. But what is the new path I want to create for my kids? How to forge a new path? How can I help them live a natural life? I don't know. And also, here's another idea. The last 1/5th or so of the blue book has a lot of stuff on how your mind and energy matter. It impacts our reality, and our gut, our health states. I'd love to hear more about that from your take on it. Do you have mantras? Do you have songs or traditions? How do you avoid fear? Do you have a local community? I learned a long time ago in sociology class and then again recently in a sociology book about amish communities ... that traditions or "rituals" hold a community together. They make it so that people know what to expect, give people a sense of identity, shared experiences mean shared memories.. and finally, a sense of belonging. I'd like to hear your take on this if you have one. I think about community in my family a lot. We do go camping every year. But a lot of what I had when I was a kid was um, traditions all about junk food or candy at holidays, and excessive gift giving. We are lacking other kinds of cultural traditions or rituals (in sociology, "rituals" simply means "repeated acts") and it's something that I don't know how to facilitate since I haven't been part of a family with other traditions. Going forward, I want my family culture to carry more meaning, more depth. I want my kids to know what it's like to have rich experiences together, memories and opportunities to build trust. But, how to make that happen? I don't know. Thanks for your updates and questions! I always love your channel and your beautiful authenticity. Thank you

Ive always wondered how a person would know that they need the gaps diet? What are the symptoms for needing to make the switch?

A good place to start are the conditions on the signs in the pictures on the front of the GAPS books, and for a more complete list, Dr. Natasha has many more symptoms in an alphabetical list inside the new blue GAPS book :)

@BumblebeeApothecary I just haven't bought any of the books because I don't know what the diet is for, so I don't know if I would even need it. I generally like the recipes you share and try to eat as healthy and naturally as I can and I love your channel, I've just never been able to figure out what the gaps diet is specifically for. I know it stands for gut and psychology but I don't even think I'm sure what that means, other than by definition. I don't have any health issues that I'm aware of but I've just always been curious why so many people talk so much about it, without mentioning what it's for.
