Glad it worked out well for you. I tried almost 10 years ago, thought it would be better to use an importer, and he stole my $35,000. I almost went with Ian, but the guy who ended up stealing my money gave me a more detailed quote and was more expensive. Just in case the weasel pops his head up again, his name is Ron Woodleigh and he lives on the Goldcoast with my money and that of a number of other peoples. Took him to court in QLD and won the case but he has longer to pay it than he has years to live so I will never see a cent. Be careful who you use, I should have went with Ian.

Wow!!! Mate that’s a horrible and horrific story, bloody awful Aaron. Ian was recommended to me and I knew a guy who was using him at the time. Had a little bit of security there.

Hey Bryon, nice vid. As a guy who works for the guy who imports Ranger boats into Australia (Bass Angler, Penrith). This vid is pretty spot on. 1. See a boat for sale in the US, basically double the price and you are in the AUD ballpark. 2. Weird charges pop up out of nowhere (and I am not taking about $30 here) some random $650 bill for extended unloading delays is Almost normal. 3. Shipping insurance is a 100% must. Out of the last three $75k Rangers we have brought in, 2 of them have had the jockey wheel destroyed by someone somewhere using forklifts to push the boat around. 4. Using a professional at various points in the journey is 100% worth the money. The amount of red tape and BS that goes on (even excluding COVID) is enough to tear your hair out. Glad you got thru it, now the work is done, let the beast rip!

Hey mate! Dude, thanks for contributing - viewers will enjoy this read. I’d heard about the double the price before - smack bang on. Yeah the import guy was definitely a saviour. Solid service and helps you stay grounded when you approach hurdles. I was really happy with the overall price. Just super rotten about the lack of clean that was paid for!

I’ve been doing the sums and it appears about $20k on a new boat of $35k My feelings are it’s better to purchase new something like a Lund or Vexus, maybe even no motor and no trailer to ensure you have a warranty on motor and don’t need a trailer permit. A budget of $30 for boat alone, add $18 for the motor, add $6 for the trailer and $20 for freight, gst, permits etc, For $75k you have a top line bass boat well built and possibly better equipped than what we have locally, and it’s NEW.

Great vid mate, glad to hear it’s now in the driveway 😬. Did they actually state they would physically clean the boat at the docks? I know from having my workplace import truck motors, not all “cleans” are actual washes, but a chemical fogging/misting given to the item to kill anything living in the dirt on the item. The less physical contact with the item, the less liability they have, so fogging with a chemical does the job without the risk something gets damaged. Just saying, this might be the reason it looked dirty after given a bio security clearance 👍

Hi there, Interesting comment about Australian “wharfie” stevedores being the problem limiting factor. I am a stevedore myself and can assure you that we have zero input into your quarantine issue, you stated the boat was transported on a roll on roll off vessel so that trailer was driven off the vessel, the only contracted stevedoring job in this instance is to get that vehicle ie your boat and trailer off fast and without damage. Your quarantine issue would of totally been avoided if your agent supplied you with a marine surveyor to conduct a thorough check and had the vessel cleaned prior to its departure. It’s misleading information really and pointing the finger at the wrong people trying to put food on the table. Other than that, I find your videos interesting and full of good content.

My father-in-law was working there and we jokingly called it ar-kan-ass-is. Funniest was when sister in law believed that’s what it’s called and innocently started telling everybody where her dad worked. Been there once but didn’t get to the white river which is pretty famous for trout
@piespaddles60654 жыл бұрын
Shame about the Quarantine issue. Did they mention what the initial inspection failure was? Could be the dirt isn't an issue but something else on the boat was (weed etc)?
@ByronTeaHill4 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, nah I received zero feedback about the condition - just that it would need a clean and that it WILL be going to THAT service.
