Pro tip for Photoshop: Don't use the Eraser tool because once it's erased, it's gone. Instead you want to add an adjustment layer and paint with a black brush to "erase" and white brush to bring stuff back.

Making game skins is basically sorcery, and I don't know how people do it. But you need to align the details to the sample skin so the mouth and nostrils and stuff line up properly. You also have to warp details like the eyebrows so that they expand out to the right size. Basically, think of the whole thing as a sewing pattern. If you just drop the fabric onto the pattern, it won't be aligned right when the final product is done.

The Sims Studio is actually a really useful tool if you use a lot of CC. It runs through your library and checks for any CC that has errors or needs fixes. It made my game run a lot smoother. Lovin' your work. :)

About the squeezing the eye thing: there is a program for that. Its usually used for 2D animation and is called Live2d. One could use it to squeeze the eyes, skin and what not to fit better since it is litterally the best program for a use like that. and yes, pngs are exportable as well, not just animations.

Rather late to the party, but this would've been easier had you used the transform and mesh tools instead of taking bits and pieces of your face. Also, there's tools in Photoshop that let you import 3D objects, I believe (I haven't used Photoshop in ages so idk if it's still possible). If you can export the 3D model of your Sim head, you can take pictures of your front face, left side and right side, and paste it onto the 3D face without needing to deal stretching (if the 3D face matches your actual face, that is).

You would need to have a tiny understanding on how UV-mapping works (basically how to texture your skin on the flattened skin texture) to make it accurate 😭 You should've taken one photo with your eyes closed so it aligns with the eyelid texture.

You would still need to put your face over someone with a matching head and face shape. His lower third is shorter than his upper 2 thirds. This means that the head will always look rounder and circular even if it is actually oval shaped.
