I always thought it was ported to the PS2, but it turned out to be a remake of the original. :S

Seems like a wasted opportunity to put all 3 on a single disk.

Impossible mission was one of my favorite games ever on c64. Lol I think zaxxon is the first game I ever remember playing but I remember impossible mission most of all. :D

The music is very distinctive, it might not surprise you to hear it was Allister Brimble who wrote it. As it sounds very similar to Project X another one of his games.

If I remember right, it did get a kicking from the mags, especially from the infamous Amiga Power. I also could have sworn there was a coverdisk demo for it. Other possibly obscure games you could try is Bob's Bad Day and BIlls Tomato Game.

Oh there was a demo, we might even see it soon (wink wink). and yeah the magazines were not favorable to the game, I don't think its as bad as they say. But its also not the best game. But I still find it interesting.

Ever since i was a teenager back in the mid 1990's, I saw some pictures of this third IMPOSSIBLE MISSION game for the Amiga. And i had this feeling, that it could not be as good as the two first original games. Luckily, i did not buy it to my Amiga 500, after i saw some gameplay videos of this game 😹👍🕹️.

I did wonder what had been done with Impossible mission (I mostly played the BBC version), I guess its Amiga reboot must have completely passed me by at the time. I must admit if I had known about it at the time, I'm not sure that version would have caught interest as much as the original one did.

I was addicted to first Impossible Mission on C64, there was something magical with random generated maze and syntetized voice. I feel I must play and finish CD32 version and I have done it with heavy abuse of save states. That game is hard and if You wish to see end must play perfectly, each death reduces Your time.

The C64 version was Epyx at its peak, it is really funny that literally any computer of its time got a version even the ZX Spectrum, only the Atari 8 bits did not. Epyx must really have hated Atari at this time. Funny that they ended up with Jack Tramiels Atari later only to be screwed over by Tramiel on the Lynx and being sent into bankrupcy by his shennanigans.

Just so you know, somebody in Hungary either completely rewrote it, or made a simulator of the C64 version that runs online. It's exactly the same game. I can't post links here, but if you search for "impossible mission online" and start scanning for ".hu" you'll find it. It's precisely the original game. I think you'll find it quite a bit more difficult to finish now than you did as a kid. I used to have my school's record on finishing it, now I can barely finish it period.

Thx for the video. I met this when I was like 13 and ofcourse, kept wandering around like hours, doing items searches but for what? 😂 the moment the game loaded, I fell in love with it due to its pretty good soundtrack. That’s what kept me going from one platform to another without any sense of purpose. Jumping over the bots, just to avoid hearing that awful and scary death sound 😔. My friend who gave me the game told me that the older version is bad so don’t bother with it. Years later, I learned that it’s its originalish version in the market and was deemed better. Only last year I managed to watch a completed walkthrough of this and saw the following levels such as offices and the construction yard 😂. Another mistery of my childhood was gone then. Thank God, now I know what that big vertical zone is right at the start of the game on the right side 😂. All in all imho, the future concept of 80s or 90s was much charming for me than in these times.

I can imagine the game being a little confusing if you hadn't played the previous ones. and didn't know you needed to find the puzzle pieces to unlock the lift.

There's a re-release of the original game, plus a remaster and a remake on Switch butt nothing for the other two I can find. Off topic but did you ever make the Alien Breed 3D II video you mentioned in the video on Alien Breed 3D I? I looked through the list of your videos after it but didn't see one though I could have easily missed it.

They tend to ignore the sequels, which I guess is fair enough as they were not as well received. but I still think they are important. and as for AD3D 2, no I've not done a dedicated video on it yet. I tend to do videos on games when I feel inspired to talk about them, and I've not felt like that with AB3d2 yet. The closest I got was covering it a little in my Amiga FPS games video.

Never played this one, I’ve played the first game but never really got in to it so I’m guessing this wouldn’t be for me either? Cool video though, always love seeing games that are new to me, thanks.

Its both easier and harder then the original game as you can learn the level designs. but the unpredictability of the robots makes it a much bigger pain.
@deanolium

Completely misses every bit that made the original fun. Each room in that was it's own puzzle which you had to figure out -- how do you get to each bit of furniture to search them? Then you have the meta puzzle over it with each of the pieces where you had to not only figure out what fit together but also change the colours appopriately. It made the game seem larger in scope than it really was, and just interesting. Meanwhile this is just a standard platform with a repetitive searching mechanic, and then sliding block puzzles which are the worst. It's too zoomed in to make the player do much more than react to the robots - no planning out the rooms to get to each platform safely. The puzzle element is just dull and you end up repeating the process over and over.

@@GouldFishOnGames All the CD32 ISOs are available. I can provide them to you. I don't know if you'd be able to burn a CD with them since I don't know anything about the copy protection of the CD32, but you can certainly run them on a simulator. I believe UAE will run all the CD32 games.

@@fuzzywzheyou don't need to worry too much about that, I have multiple ways of playing games on my CD32. Its just as part of the videos I like to show the boxes and the manuals. to help give context to the game. But if I just want to play it, then I'm covered.

I find it interesting that in the whole revival of pixel art games we have had in the last let's say 10-15 years, very little has been released with the characteristic look that Amiga pixel art games had. Very European, probably that's the reason, that most people prefer a more manga-like look, but I find it a shame.

I guess its mostly down to what you grew up with at the time, more people had the MD and the SNES so more inspired by those machines. we do get the odd Amiga like game, but it is as you say not that often. (but even some amiga games went with a more Anime/Manga look, like Turrican)
