Best yet for me is homegrown "Super Sweet 100's" little cherry tomatoes (cut in quarters) with Baby Spinach on either extra sourdough English muffins or Lebonese style Pita bread. The dressing is Humus done w/mint, garlic, red onions all chopped, mixed with EVOO as need.
@ksls35033 жыл бұрын
Or can use the really yummy New Zealand Spinach with its thicker leaf, grown on ground runners. Picking the smaller leaves for salads in the AM and adding cut Maraschino cherries with the red onions and a red wine vinaigrette with some of that cherry juice mixed in makes for a WoW basic salad to start with.

Another great adventure! This time, I'm laughing at Jeremy's assessment of "ethnic food". So interesting how where we grow influences our tastes. Where I live (Canada), there's way more to food than pot roast, carrots & ketchup. We just call it "food", be it guacamole, souvlaki, perogies, ginger beef, calamari, shawarma, vindaloo or poutine. He sounds determined that ketchup goes with everything, so all I ask is that he doesn't say he eats it on bologna. I refuse to accept that anyone doesn't know mustard is right. For the record, my Swedish grandmother also ate butter and sugar sandwiches as a poor child and my Polish father thought that was one great recipe when his mother in law introduced him to it. Keep up the great coin pushing!

Your shocking stories of electric outlets reminded me of the time I went to plug in the sewing machine and realized the prongs had somehow gotten bent. I knew better than to stick any foreign metal object into the outlet, but in my 12-year old mind, I figured if I squeezed the prongs together long enough to guide them in, I'd be golden. Well, it worked, but the ensuing shock also threw my arm back. Now, my dad was sitting at the same table, so I didn't dare alert him to my stupidity by screaming or crying.

Creepy basement story; I NEVER liked to go into the basement of our house because I always felt as if I was being watched. Years later, my mom had my son for the day. They were in the basement while she did laundry. She heard Michzel casually chatting with some one in the diagonal corner of the basement and asked who he was talking to. "The man" he replied. Because the was a huge old converted coal-burning furnace in the way so she couldn't see him. Mom coaxed him over, grabbed him, ran up the stairs and called the cops who searched the entire house. There was nobody there and the deadbolt on the backdoor was undisturbed. Back they went to the basement to finish doing laundry, and Michael went back to the same corner and began to chat again, complete with pauses to let the man respond. Mom finally told Michael that "the man" was scaring Gramma. Dutifully, Michael told the man they couldn't talk anymore. We found out years later that the original owner of our 100-year old home had died of a heart attack....in the basement.

@hpruitt11864 жыл бұрын
When I was growing up, the only time I ever got pizza for dinner is when I had a babysitter for my parents date night. Pizza was always a "special occasion" food. One random Sunday night after I had gone to bed, I woke up & smelled pizza. Turns out, my parents had been ordering pizza after I went to bed every Sunday night for years & hiding the evidence. The worst part...after I caught them, I couldn't even have any because it had green peppers on it & I'm allergic to them. All these years later, I'm still salty about it. 🤣

STRATEGY TIP: When you have a great a big mess of weight spread out across the front of the treasure field, DO NOT clean off one side at a time. What this does is it creates a "Light" side and a "Heavy" side. The quarters are going to push to the path of least resistance, and the heavy stuff won't be impacted very efficiently. Just attack the middle THIRD (remember not to be too precise and drop in the same spot every time. Create a broad "push zone" in the treasure field). You will find that the field will ALL move forward, and the treasure field will get "Lighten Up" evenly across the front. This will result in faster payouts and MORE PAYOUT! :)

My brother used to get in trouble a lot in middle school. Back then, the principal would give the students swats. The number of swats given was determined by the seriousness of the "crime". They made the "boards" that the principal used in the wood shop. They were very thick boards and had holes drilled into them by the wood shop. One day the principal told my brother to bend over and grab his ankles. After a few swats he hit him so hard that the board broke into two pieces. It was perfectly fine in those days. Spanking was even mentioned on Leave it to Beaver ("wait for your father to get home"). : )

Jeremy ... so, your mother was a bad cook? My mother was a terrible cook. Her idea of spaghetti was a jar of stewed tomatoes poured over cooked noodles. She did shake a little salt and pepper on it. My first opportunity to eat good food was when I started first grade and ate school cafeteria lunches. It was SO SO SO good .. and, my mother's was SO SO SO bad that I arranged for the school cook to meet with my mother to talking about how to fix a good-tasting meal.
