It's interesting because my neighbor who has been an CRNA for over 20 years, said that "Imposter Syndrome" is also known as "Incompetence Syndrome", because you know that you are not skilled in your decisions, judgements or procedures during school. These feelings continue onto your employment until one day you realize that you do know what your doing and are making sound decisions in the actions you take. I think this actually applies to most nursing jobs as new grads or starting work in a new unit.

Adding an additional comment here- I urge any CSPA students who see this to check out the full video with Dr. Darna inside the Academy's Nurse Anesthesia Educators: Unplugged section. Dr. Darna has researched Impostor Syndrome for several years and is an expert on the topic. While we may all have different experiences when dealing with I.S., his advice about identifying whether you're experiencing Impostor Syndrome, and how to address it, is invaluable. Thank you again @janetg for sharing your experience!
