My first impressions after a week of using this 2020 Samsung fridge freezer in Black stainless steel. Model RS22T5201SG with SmartThings connectivity, ice dispenser and water dispenser.

I just ordered one . So many of the other fridges have bad reviews . That are consistent so far the only complaint I have noticed about this model is the ice is slow . Thanks for the vid

We have all the black stainless appliances. The "black" comes off with cleaning after a time (I use simple green) and scratches are impossible to fix.

Hello, just ordered one of these with the same model number you noted in the title. It’s counter-depth. Your model isn’t counter depth it it? Standard size 27 cu ft currently has a different model number so perhaps it changed in 2 years. ( standard is currently showing. # RS27T5200SG)

-No light on the 'dispencer'... ! -'Water nozzle' waaay to far forward, so you have to use 2 hands....! -No door handles...! -Overall, poorly engdispensers...!! But, it's big and it works, so far. What do you want for $1600...?

Just ordered the fridge. It just occurred to me that the left side of the fridge will be against the wall. Can you still open the freezer drawer at only 90 degree angle?

Two items. If you have a 1” gap on the wall and the fridge, the door will open 90 degrees, perhaps a little less because of the small stick out of the ice / water dispenser. With the door open in line with the fridge the bottom drawer hits the door. BUT the bottom drawer is half depth and only opens about ½” more with the freezer drawer fully open. Your biggest issue is the ice maker on the door is very big and with the freezer door only open 90 degrees, you lose half the width to the top shelves.

Does it have 3 shelves in the freezer door or two? Mine looks like it has a spot for a 3rd shelf, but I cant find it for sale anywhere.

Glad I am not the only one who thought it was missing. It only has 2 on the freezer door. The door molding likely comes from another model, this one has that bottom drawer and that likely makes it too small of a space for a shelf. I honestly called the delivery company thinking they left with it.

I wouldn’t say it’s much smaller than normal, but ever so slightly yes. I find you have to use the door space a lot to get full use of the fridge. I miss my 3rd crisper drawer. Compared to my last side-by-side it’s about an inch less wide. The front-on face looks taller but it’s just the doors - they are taller than the fridge so they hide the top hinges from the front profile. After 3 months; Would I get this fridge again? I would keep looking. I realize I like having a separate water and ice chute. The freezer is a bit too small. The fact that I can’t stand a bottle of wine in the main part of the fridge is an annoyance (and the shelves can’t be changed). Lastly it makes odd noises.

I might get the RS27T5200SR similar to your 22cf. I notice when talking about the ice/water dispenser most don't either notice or talk about that area having no night/dispense light that can be switched on off or comes on when getting water/ice!

Not the drawers but initially I had it freeze something I left up against the back wall after it was first plugged in. Since then I have not had anything in the fridge compartment freeze.

Ice maker has been working well. It makes some creeky sounds from time to time but I always have ice. We use both cube and crushed ice. Only downside is sometimes you get stray cubes if you go back for more ice after using it recently that seem to shoot out sideways. (I think they get stuck in the lid of the dispenser and when it reopens it falls out sideways)

I have one exactly the same had mine for 3 months ... I have noticed that my vegetables get frozen sometimes ... I don't know how to adjust the temperature or if that will make a difference on freezing my vegetables??? Lol

Someone else mentioned their veggies freeze in this fridge. I had some carrots freeze that were pushed to the back of the top shelf. Since then I have had them in the crisper and don’t put veggies at the back. Haven’t had any issues since.

I have mine in the 2nd storage bin and on the shelves (just not at the back). FDA suggests keeping a fridge at or below 40F. I run mine at 37. I also do not use power cool.

Yes. It has maybe a cup or two of chilled water in the line and that seems about it.

I’ve read that there were major issues at one time for when the ice maker is positioned in the French Door refrigerators. A lot of appliance repair channels here also comment never to buy a fridge that has this set up as the ice maker really struggles while its mounted in the fridge. Makes sense! Samsung had a big problem on there hands then.

While I have not timed it; it takes about 2 hrs for a tray to make ice; and a few days to fill the bucket. Check the tape was taken off and it is switched on.

If you mean the one on the inside of the fridge door (but not inside the fridge)? Mine has a plastic cap with an up arrow that says push. Underneath is nothing. I assume Samsung reused the door design and that gap is not used on this fridge but perhaps another one that shares the door part number.

You need a water connection to use the automatic ice maker or water dispenser. No way around it.

Yes - beside the bottom drawer in the fridge. Just replaced mine after the change filter light came on. Was easy and a handful of 3rd party options online.

Control panel in by the filter! The bottom one unlocks controls then you can change the Temps! Then you relock control panel!
