I bought a thunderbolt 4 cable that’s 6ft long from Amazon spent like 30$ and all my onexgpu does is blink. It works perfectly with the cable that was provided but won’t detect anything with the thunderbolt.

This wasn't a very thorough review or demonstration...the games you tested were done with usb4 but the true performance of that egpu is unlocked with an oculink connection...granted, not a lot of devices have an oculink port and you may not have one handy that does, as such you should have added context on the potential speed of an oculink connection which is double that of usb4 so you probably could have ran those games way over 80 or 90 frames with high settings if you had used oculink.

Unfortunately, I did not have a single device with an Oculink port. So no way of testing. I think most people will be in the same boat.

@@ChigzTech I'm sure, but it would have been helpful to mention you would get much faster speeds with oculink, especially since more of the newer pc's are implementing it now. Someone in the market for a new pc or handheld may consider getting one if they knew of the benefits.

No, what's common knowledge is that most people never even heard of oculink (given that it's not implemented as a standard connection on most pc's) , much less the speed of it... and I'm not talking about the tech geeks that look at every detail and port connections on a pc before buying it. I'm talking about the average Joe that is in the market for a mini pc and wants to know whether their games can run at a good pace along with everything else.... My point is, that if something supports an oculink connection then it's worth mentioning the benefits of it at least, even if they are not able to test it.

Not portable if it needs to be plugged into the wall. Unless we can use an external battery that takes AC power. Can anyone confirm this?

I showed the GPU temp throughout all the gaming test, it stayed at comfortable levels. No over-heating issues.

Its just to expensive for what you get. I had it and just returned it.. when it doesnt stutter it can decide to just not work. You can mess with it and get it to work again but all of that for 700 its just not worth it

That's a lot of equipment to haul around, wires,power brick,the unit itself. Not well thought out on integration. Just too much stuff to haul around.

You call that "a lot of stuff to haul around?" 1 cable, 1 plug and an egpu the size of a vhs tape?... I'm pretty sure i can fit all of it into a backpack or decent laptop bag...unlike a tower pc and an actual gpu... this would go great with one of those mini pc's that's for sure. Although, it is still too expensive in my book...but we'll see where the price is in a couple of years...i would definitely pick it up for $200 if it happens.
