Hey John. I was out jogging the other day and decided to stop on a field near a woody area near me. I live in Manchester so there's not much nature around but there's a nice spot nearby. I sat on the field and I felt this total silence and peace starting to grow. I panicked because I felt like it was going to swallow me up. When I got home I was annoyed that I'd let fear ruin the peace I felt so I asked a mate if he wanted to go camping. He said he was up for it so we went cos I thought I must be really disconnected from nature if silence scared me. Anyway we went to the lakes and camped on Saturday night. The first thing I noticed when I was on the Old Man Of Coniston was the silence. Never heard anything like it in my life. I embraced it this time though and then the entire night I didn't even want to play music or even speak because I was so amazed by the weight of the silence I felt. Never heard anything like it before. I went from being scared of it, to making myself get back out in it and it turned out to be the thing I loved most out of the entire trip. The absolute silence on the mountains. Never really understood what you meant when you always stopped and listened to the silence but out in nature silence has such a different quality to regular everyday life in rural areas. I love it now can't wait to get back out and camp again.

@@Seemsayin I've learned to grow in letting go of desires of the world, and imagine and practice stillness and content instead(in many areas). I learned long ago about mindfulness, however, mentors like John Butler, can brings us back by reminding us to center on God and be still and grateful? Healing. .... His voice is calm, assuring, trustworthy, and safe vs downtrodden, negative, self centered, arrogant, and abusive? Please understand I speak from a personal feeling and experience. I wouldn't understand how or what you feel when you watch Mr. Butler, but I'd respect it. Thank you for your kind questions and thoughts.🙏

Abide in Me. .He says... and there we are at peace....the everlasting arms have a safety and a security unknown to the busy world of commerce and competition! And you longed to love and be loved.....yes, and like us all looked everywhere. Not finding it....and when you stopped looking. ..Love found you, so that now you live in that presence!!! You remind me of an apostle, an example of man impersonating God. At 46 I have found this channel at the right place in my mind set. More than half of what you have said I have found on my own after a lifetime of chaos. As I am fatherless you set a good charter going forward, echoing things I heard from Great Aunts and distant cousins. I wonder how you reconcile the chaos in the past, mine seemed always keeping to character. As much as some of my 20s and 30 were a waste of time, I'm not resentful of them, as they were attempts. I think of life no longer as playing basketball- keeping a score against an opponent but as golf keeping score against my own satisfaction, which means there isn't a score any longer. When I use feet on the ground, becoming aware that my interpretation of stimulus often defines who I am- I am no longer at odds with the chaos that will surely follow because I know where to put it. I accumulate worth elsewhere.

mesmerized by his voice we forget or accept the fact that the MINDFULNESS is the new toy for a society allowing anything except solutions and rational thinking. If your life it's not what you wanted it's because we never came to life WITH AN EXACT AIM. What you do is what gives your life a meaning.
@svonkie3 жыл бұрын
“New toy”? That’s funny. The Buddha would be amused.
@synchron90193 жыл бұрын
Mindfulness is good but you are right: often it is misleading weak persons to go on with their irrational behaviour. For example people with money problems or compulsive behaviour like watching to much porn etc. are stuck in this behaviour and think mindfulness will do it. Mindfulness alone does not do anything with your money problem for example. Be rational and get free of compulsive behaviour. Real Mindfulness is really good but nevertheless you have to get your finances, your Job and your family in order.

I could not agree more, consumerism, some do not look after belongings, they just have the mentality oh well we buy another. PS Im 46 maybe I am old fashioned. I feel we are actually devolving as opposed to evolving. With each generation worse than the last, but maybe ppl are starting to realise, maybe its too late.

27:20 - 27:45 During this _"Reign of Quantity"_ as René Guénon called it, there are many, many men, especially, who, due to the fact that the primitive forms of sex are not liveable in a healthy traditional sense during the proper age _(that is directly after the onset of puberty until, say, 20)_ , get psychologically stuck there and the obsession with sex lingers far, far beyond that period, resulting in a prolonged, even lifelong emotional adolescence. No sexual relationship _after_ that time _(from 20 onwards)_ can properly compensate for what nature has intended to be the _orderly and regularly_ sexually active "teenage years" _(which had never existed in all of human history until that period was invented only decades ago)_ which would be exactly what would allow a man to _feel_ adult once he is in his 20s and so drop his mental preoccupation with sex. JB is lucky to have been able to "catch up" his maturation later through the wisdom he received, but not all men are able to let go of what they missed out on when young. My own style of catching up was considerably more raunchy, less wholesome, but otherwise rather similar to his.

Thank you, @John have you ever been at complete stillness and rest? It is my belief that when you are in this state that you are the closest that you can be. I have gleaned this from a couple of reputable sources. When energy at rest meets energy in motion this creates consciousnesses which creates all that we see. The energy at rest is God/Creator/Source. I hypothesize that when we are perfectly still and at a deep rest that at that time that is as close as we can get to the Creator. If you do this with a large group of people the effects are multiplied. Would you please contact me if this blends with you
