Thanks Adrian. Very nice blues tone from that Lester. Loved your comment about players lapsing into ‘chops fest’ mode. So true.

Thank you SO MUCH for being the most comprehensive guitar teacher on youtube, and the most well versed in every single type of music, experimental and otherwise. There's no other teacher on here who has your knowledge and experience with different decades, styles, bands, etc. not many 'indie rock' guitar teachers'

I don't know if there's a lot of demand for it, but an Improv Session lesson on Richard Thompson's electric style would be pretty cool.

Hi Adrian, as always your lessons are top notch! "Crosscut Saw" was also recorded by Clapton in the key of A, in his "Money and Cigarettes" album. And by the way, the Caribbean-tinged rhythm used has been described in many ways, including "rhumba" and "mambo", but I think the correct definition would be "Clave de Son 3/2", a popular Afro-Cuban beat.

Oh man ; i so agree about blues playing , and people just wanting to spray their ( often inappropriate) chops all over everything. Great lesson, and a great guitarist to choose to do a lesson on ( his style anyhow)

Hi Adrian, thanks for doing another one of these lessons. I think it's a great series which has really helped me approach my first solos. Just one request from me, any chance you could a lesson for a song from Tom Robinson Band's first album? Something like Winter of '79 would be swell. Punk guitar at its finest. Keep up the great work!

I used to work with folks from the UK and I love phrases like "Have a think on that" and "Have a go at it". Never hear those used here in Texas. Right then.

Great lesson Adrian! Another beautiful example of subtlety and simplicity in explaining theory to noobs like myself! With regards to great examples of Albert King style songs are "Albert's Shuffle" by Mike Bloomfield from the Super Sessions album, and just about any David Gilmour leads from Pink Floyd. I can't imagine what Gilmour would sound like without the Albert King influence! As far as "latin or rhumba style blues, there's a lot of stuff on the great Exello label, particularly the work of Guitar Gable and Guitar Slim (Eddie Jones) although I think Guitar Slim might have been on the Specialty label. There's a Guitar Gable tune called "Guitar Mambo", a great, simple instrumental with gnarly '50's guitar tone! As far as a Sabbath tune to cover, how about "Supernaut", far from subtle, but we don't listen to Sabbath for subtlety, do we?
@andychase76934 жыл бұрын
Update: The Guitar Gable record is "Congo Mombo", also check out "Tramp" by Lowell Fulson, "All Your Love ( I Miss Lovin')" by Otis Rush, and "Snatch it Back & Hold It" by Junior Wells. Also, the right spelling for Guitar Gable's label is Excello. Tops for "Louisiana Swamp Blues"!

Adrian, my oh my, how you have moved up, good for you Mate, Les Paul's Marshall, collectors issue Vox, multiple guitar rack, nice big video studio, [not your old closet, and little Fender amp,] even an old Fender Rhoades piano, fine imported Persian rug, Blimey! do you have a Lear Jet parked outside? Well you deserve all that for you have, no doubt helped a lot of Hack Guitarist, like myself, to improve. Adrian t shirts, tank tops in the future? If so, I will need a large, Thanks.
