Hi Kirk. I'd completely forgotten about you. Shame on me. I've been playing golf about 30 years. For the first 25 I was really woeful off the tee. I mean really woeful. I stumbled upon Moe Norman videos about 5 years ago, and started looking for more. Couldn't find much, but discovered your channel. Tried some of your techniques, and slowly but surely my problems from the tee disappeared. Not only that, I went from consistently 30 yards behind my playing partner to 30 yards ahead. Then, within a year, broke par for the first time in my life. Not once, but about 9 times. Can't thank you enough. I really enjoy my golf now. Just subscribed to your channel.

I started golf 3 years ago and was struggling with nearly everything (slicing, tapping, hitting before the ball, etc. I am in the 60s and you can imagine how painful was imitating the PGA pros (conventional KZbin curses teach this) until I started following your instructions. I took advantage of the 2 months lockdown and I practiced almost every day in the backyard. Now I'm hitting the ball like a pro! No, I'm joking but I do notice essential improvement. Thank you for your useful tips.

Hi Kirk. I used to slice like crazy. I tried having my lead hand in a strong position. But that was too inconsistent, one a slice and the next a hook. So l tried your way of having the trailing arm in a none rotational position. Yahoo immediate success, straight drives. Also l now set up as your instructions. Thank you. John

Kirck, thoughts on the wrists. It would be great to see a video of how the wrists work during and after impact
@Setup4Impact Жыл бұрын
The wrists work as they do in any good golf swing. Exactly how depends on the grip positioning which is customizable for each golfer. Best to focus 99% of your work on making impact great.

Hi Kirk. I am in the process of converting to your methods. I've been playing for about 50 years so I don't expect it to happen over night. I just came back from the range when I saw this new video. I was hitting a number of shots fat, and after watching this I believe I was standing to far from the ball. This should be quite helpful. Also, should I use the same set up method for the driver. Thanks..... and stay healthy.

I like how you keep your right foot primarily on the ground until after impact. Your distance from the ball looks more reasonable than Mov. Arms straight out but not reaching out as far. Hips level throughout . Why are you hitting an iron so forward, off the left heel? Good instruction.
@Setup4Impact3 жыл бұрын
The ball position is an illusion due to camera placement. Standing closer negates the need to drop down as Moe did. I do not try to keep my right heel down through impact as restriction will also limit distance and accuracy.

@Kirk Junge, @bettergolf72 Mr. Junge or Mr. Griffin, When changing from a traditional approach would one need to readjust the lie angle on their irons? Jake
@Setup4Impact4 жыл бұрын
Assuming that your current clubs fit your impact angle and if you keep the same distance from the ball at setup. Then the lie angle needed would be the same. I am just having you setup on your impact plane that you currently have and making a few other adjustments. Impact will be the same unless you stand farther away from the ball.
@texasspangler4 жыл бұрын
@@Setup4Impact thank you for the reply sir. I will say that adjusting the hands has definitely helped me to hit my 4 hybrid a lot better so cheers.... Now if I could only hit my driver as I struggle I went from hitting 280 to 220 if I am lucky over the past year and can not fix the problem.

Pretty short Backswing for you. Is that recommended?

Hey Kirk. What is your lie angle?
@Setup4Impact4 жыл бұрын
About 4 degrees upright from standard. That is what fits me but each person needs to find out through dynamic fitting what lie angle fits them. If you are switching from conventional golf you will need the same lie angle as long as you keep the same distance from the ball.

Look at setup4impact.com/online/ That is my most up to date content. The lifetime access allows for access to all member videos which are not here on KZbin. Membership allows you to send in videos for my review. The DvD is of poor quality compared to today's standards.

I like the simple concept for the weekend golfer this is the same swing i learned over 30 years ago with the single plane PVC set up someone stole it out my backyard..All the nice courses use to have the PVC it a lot easier to warm up on with swing perfect every time i used a training driver an iron its heavy to build up mucle memory i just been wondering why all the teachers got away from this concept
@Setup4Impact4 жыл бұрын
They used the PVC (sam 2000) from the conventional setup. So it still was difficult for people to play well. Bryson is one of the first to use it Setting up on his impact plane.

Hi Kirk, love the videos. I have one question. How come when you set up for impact you dont slightly open hips. Because in slow mo you (like pros on tour) are open at impact
@Setup4Impact4 жыл бұрын
Hi Brad. It is because the hips would then have to turn very far in the backswing. So starting square to the target line they only have to turn around 40 degrees on the backswing. If they started open then they would have to turn 85 degrees on the backswing and then 85 degrees again before impact.

Great video as always. Question, does the weight shift to the back leg on the backswing or does it remain even between both legs. I am trying to end the sway to the right on my backswing.
@OLD-MAN-GOLF-USA4 жыл бұрын
The weight should shift to the back foot during the backswing, so in order not to sway you need to keep the head in place and keep the right knee (for right hand players) in place, don't allow it to move to the right on the backswing. The weight shift is like any other athletic motion, throwing a ball, serving in tennis for example, it goes to the back foot then shifts to the left ahead of the downswing. Tony Griffin Setup 4 Impact Master Instructor
@Setup4Impact4 жыл бұрын
The weight transfers a bit to the inside of the back leg, not the outside. Practice turning the hip in on the backswing. Do not let it sway.

Thank you. I played today with Kurt’s fellow student Steve Y. He played real well. I was happy with my contact. I had not played for a while. I was concentrating on turning my hip and not swaying. kIRK DO YOU TRY AND GET A DIVOT?
@Setup4Impact4 жыл бұрын
The sole of the club needs to be just scraping the ground so the divot happens because of proper impact with the ball which then deflects the club down into the ground.

Well many parts of SnT are overdone. If you look at players who they have taught they do not have their arms straight at impact, or through the swing. I just compared similar parts.
