Thanks for the 4 videos on footwork. I am rigorously following them. How I have though, in this video you have using front line to stand to move in V direction. If we practice that way then moving backwards it takes a lot of efforts or not able to reach to shuttle in time, would you clarifying here? TIA

Great video coach.... But people are suggesting to move on toes only .. For fast footwork???... Is it so???.. Can you please suggest some exercises to Improve the toe strength.. Or calf strength..??.. Please comment
@CoachKennieAsuncion4 жыл бұрын
You can be on your toes but not on 2 feet at the same time as you will be off balanced. The tip toe on 1 foot helps with the push off from your base to the next shot... tip toes making your heel go up and down is the simplest, then if u want to level up u can hold a dumbell and do the tip toe exercises, if u want more stand with ur toes on an elevated area and exaggerate the up and down of ur heel at the edge. 😁🏸

Hlo coach I have an problem in my hand that is when I am hitting the shuttle my hand is started panning I have an question that which shoes we have to use .
@CoachKennieAsuncion3 жыл бұрын
If you tend to switch to pan handle you should be conscious to correct that otherwise it slows u down for other shots. With regards to shoes it depends on your feet. My feet are relatively thin so i love my yonex aerus shoes because it hugs my feet the right way. However, people with wider feet might want a wider model. Try and see what fits you😁🏸

If using the 2 steps doesn’t get u there, add a joint step. I will be making a video on that soon. Watchout for it! 😁🏸
@abhisheksheshadri34514 жыл бұрын
Hi , This is a great video. I have one question. I am right handed, and when I play front court I usually move towards the net with my right foot first. It is like taking two steps of right foot towards the net and using my left foot only to push myself forward. More like a small hop. How bad is this and what should I do to unlearn this?
@CoachKennieAsuncion4 жыл бұрын
Its not bad, if that is more comfortable for you its ok and its not a bad movement... joint step is what you call what your doing and that is ok too. Il make a video on explaining that more... dont worry bout it. You’re good! 😁🏸

@@CoachKennieAsuncion Thanks Coach. This gives confidence. 💯
@jonburton19355 жыл бұрын
I’ve always shuffled into the net on the forehand side. Is the left leg right leg a better movement that the shuffle?
@CoachKennieAsuncion5 жыл бұрын
The left right movement is how we teach our beginners and there is another way which feels like skipping forward to the right (or what i would call joint step which i will discuss in future videos). I would always prefer the left right but as a coach I am open to what works for a player as long as it feels smooth and easy for you and ofcourse as long as u end with your dominant leg and not the opposite of it. 🏸😁🏸😁
@TheCrimemas5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking this question. I too have the same doubt. Most coaches recommend shuffle because as per them, it is quicker than regular footwork. Please do watch BWF Singles matches. Whenever a serve return is near the net, most players Ginting, Momota etc will do a shuffle to reach to it.
@CoachKennieAsuncion5 жыл бұрын
Coaches have different styles of teaching footwork and all. I believe the shuffling you guys are talking about is more for the advance. I dont think a beginner can immediately move to shuffling & might get overwhelmed since they are feeling their way on the court. When I was still actively competing i liked listening to coaches with different styles and see what works for me. Thanks for your insightful comments🏸🏸

@CoachKennieAsuncion3 жыл бұрын
I feel that putting my best effort for an athlete is what coaches do if you sincerely want to help someone achieve their goals but there are also many factors in making an athlete successful. Their skill and dedication counts a lot and support of family. I am happy to share that after my brother and I stopped competing internationally, that we together with my dad, another brother and other coaches have contributed our players to the national team. I hope to one day see Filipino players do well in tournaments and rankings internationally... believing and hoping for that😁🏸

Hi Coach, I am playing badminton from almost one year. I am still very poor in my footwork or I can say I never follow the steps and I still run to get to the shuttle. I would like to improve myself. What is the best way to start learning footwork for me. I am playing 6 days a week for almost 2 to 3 hours with intermediate players. Since, I always focus on winning the rally than practicing any drills. I feel like nothing much improved. Can you please suggest me what to do?
@CoachKennieAsuncion4 жыл бұрын
I suggest for you not to play games first and focus on doing footworks and drills. That is the common problem when you play games, the focus is more on the winning instead of doing the right footwork which is more beneficial in the long run... i hope you can resist not playing games for awhile... good luck! 😁🏸
