I'm so glad I came across your video! I'm using a newer version of BSL (8.1.02.2), but this still mostly applies, the newer version only has a few extra options. I never really understood what all the shader settings were for, except for the obvious ones, and this video helped me a lot. Thank you!

Great video! The only issues I've had with shaders is how hard it is to see in some places. Good thing there's so much customization options about the coloring and brightness. This video had everything I needed. 👍

Den Vergleich vorher/nachher im Video fand ich sehr gut! Manches hab ich direkt übernommen, anderes abgeändert (bei den Nether Farben bin ich auf Intensity 4, damit wirkt alles etwas heller und weniger drückend, für wenn man dort mal wieder länger unterwegs ist) und wieder anderes gelassen wie ich es vorher schon hatte (vor allem beim Wasser).

Super! Das ist genau das, was ich erreichen wollte. "Ein Supermarkt für Einstellungen" wo man einfach das herauspickt, was einem gefällt. Bei dem Wasser gibt es echt viele verschiedene Vorlieben (farblos, transparent, sumpfig, wolkig-blaugrau etc.) ... aber gut, dass du das Eine oder Andere mitnehmen konntest - Danke fürs Feedback! 🙂

Hey TecThor, this guide helped a lot and now my game looks great. Just one question: when it's rainy weather, the clouds are now extremely bright. It looks a bit odd because everything else is dark. Was this an intended stylistic choice on your part?

Hi Kenny and thanks! The clouds shouldn't be extremely bright. Do you have your standard light settings (Video Settings -> Brightness) set to bright? If so, then that might be the reason for the bright clouds. I used "moody" for the recording. Let me know if that helps you with your problem. 😉

But I should correct myself and say that the clouds aren't exactly "extremely bright", but it's that they don't seem to change accordingly to the weather by becoming darker/grey like before, so they're just more noticeable to me now. I'll try tinkering around more but it could also just be some random factor I haven't kept track of...
