Good to see that you are still making videos, thanks for the information and wisdom. I was almost ready to pull the trigger on the MP Rotors but I will wait and see. Pressure is an issue, track home, 700 sq ft yard, typical Ca. It gets hot here, I am looking to get a WI/FI timer and water at the crack of dawn during the summer.

Nice install. How about a drive by a half a year or so later to see the difference? I've heard the MP1000s are pretty inferior, closely related to Rain Bird's blue 8-14 which puts out a pretty anemic throw. MP2000s are much more robust. Rotary nozzles are a life saver for those with limited GPM. I've heard people argue that you will have to run sprinklers longer thus using more water, which is untrue if you know anything about precipitation rate, and, the rate at which soil can absorb water. Sandy faster, clay slower.

Thank you. Yes a drive by a year from now would be a great idea. I've been using the MP's in many different situations/applications since they were introduced to the landscape market and I would say that the 1K series is just as reliable as the 2K. They just don't throw as far, of course. It's the larger 3K and above that I typically have had issue with because their trajectory is so high. As far as precipitation rates, the typical precip. for MP's .are apx. 4 GPM which is less than a third of std. nozzles like the RB 1800's at 1.6 GPM. The Hunter rep has always held to a MIN. of 20 mins. run time for MP's in typical situations but this is only a rule of thumb and also depends whether head-to head coverage has been achieved, weather, etc. Did this address your concerns and intent?

Terry, None. If you use the proper fittings and the pressure isn't higher than it ought, there is no need for those items. Thanks for the attaboy!

Hi im trying to learn as much as i can about this. You say around 3:33 that overspray isnt an issue on the beds like it is the concrete. I get why garden overspray is acceptable, but on the other hand, how is overspray on concrete even avoidable?

Right?? I just need to say that because I've done work for folks that are super-particular about not having water on the concrete/asphalt/hardscape and I know some of the audience may be the same way. Some areas actually have water cops (esp. during droughts) or pseudo-water cops (neighbors) and have a cow if there's water on the concrete.

Why not just use a few gear drives?

Alex, The line could not have handled the cumulative amt of water needed with rotor sprays. I did the math ahead of time. This solution allowed me to actually reduce the amt of water usage and keep it within the GPM that the line could handle. Great coverage now.
