I hope not a lot of people see this comment but I colored a page with some planters and a trowel, using this tutorial and I gave it to my internist, this morning. I think I made her day. I watched her looking at it as she walked back down the hall to her office. It made me smile. 😊

Great video again. My almost 5 year old Granddaughter told me “It doesn’t always have to be perfect Nanny” as I was erasing something the other day. Hmmm...wise words my darling. I need to pay attention to how much she is paying attention and not send the wrong message to her.

Your techniques are absolutely amazing! I have learned more from watching your videos than any other ones out there. Your last video explained how to apply the "greys" for shading the cool and warm colors. I had no idea why the set included so many different greys. Perhaps you could explain how to apply the french greys and maybe more on the rest of the greys. I agree with you, I'd rather use color versus using the blender pencil. Could you do a video on using certain colors for blending on commonly used colors. I'm looking forward to learning more from you so keep up the good tips!

Another great lesson,I'm learning something new every time. I've never tried to lift a colour with my eraser, only ever removed the unintended wax smuts, but now if I'm not happy with a choice of colour I shall attempt to rectify it. Thank you Pamela, and I agree that colourists are a supportive community!

These should really be called the extensive beginner series or something because they are so much more than anyone else offers those of us that some guidance on how to lay our mediums down on the paper. Another super tutorial Pamela, and what words of wisdom regarding being self critical.....we all do it . So thanks for that pep talk 😊 fabulous techniques about rectifying mistakes. I think one of the mistakes we make is in comparing ourselves to others and being too competitive, forgetting colouring is a hobby and for many therapeutic. So saying that, do the best you can do, learn all you can from colourist like yourself Pamela, and just enjoy the experience. The world is not going to come crashing down cos you made a mistake, and more times than not it can be turned into a Happy Mistake 😀💖

I wanted to talk to you about your one pass pot. There are times when I actually like this technique at least for me. The nice little town books at least the Christmas ones remind me of some of the Christmas storybooks my Grandmother had for me to look at gently as a kid. The colors looked time worn. Also if I'm coloring something in a baby room. I think in some images they are more my style.

Another great lesson. I really appreciate the pep talk about being self critical. I took a long break from coloring because I was being a perfectionist about it and wasn’t enjoying it. And I didn’t know how to make it better. I came back to coloring recently, thinking of it as opportunity to overcome perfectionism, which has never served me. Your videos have made it more accessible for me with your straightforward tips and and friendly approach. Thank you.

So here it is, February 11, 2024. I've watched 1, 2, and now 3. I made a mistake on the edge of a small cliff in a landscape book. I took the electric eraser to it and lightly removed some of the pigment and what was left made the cliff look like a cliff, so I just left it. These have all been very helpful.

This is such an excellent video and such awesome tips/tricks/hacks/techniques/examples that has taught me so much more! I love that you let us know what the best supplies are to use to aid in our coloring journey. Especially with the types of erasers that you use because it helps us to NOT continue to buy supplies that don't work as well and waste money when we can go ahead and buy what we have seen with our own eyes work and in the end actually save money! I also love the fact that you started it off by reminding us NOT to be so harsh on ourselves and over critique our own work and to be proud of the work that we have created. And for us to post our work regardless of what we may think of it ourselves. And as you also mentioned, you have the best members on your Facebook page who do not negatively judge anyones work and always give positive reinforcement on what each one of us post. Ultimately when we post our work as well as keep it in a binder or however each person saves their drawings, we are able to go back and look at each one and see how far we have come from when we began and see things we've done before that may continue to help us and inspire us throughout or coloring journey. I love the fact that you have a ZERO tolerance for people who demonstrate negative remakrks on your Facebook page and for the moderators who help to keep track of that. I've been a member since July of last year and I've only seen one negative person be removed. Everyone is so positive and so very helpful with everyone. There aren't any cliquey groups that gang up on others. I also try to uplift and remind those in our group to never be afraid to post their work because we are all there to help and encourage each other along the way. I am hoping it won't be long before I am finished with my practicing on little things and my techiques that I will be able to tackle a page and post it. I'm so a SLOW colorist and that is another thing I am trying to work on because I don't lie being so slow lol. Thank you again for all you do and for another excellent, such an informative video!

Glad to see you talking about and demonstrating combining colors to get new colors....this has been a bit of a frustrating subject for me lately....trying to get new colorists to just experiment with their pencils (regardless of brand) to see what can be done....trying to get them to try and blending different colors together to get a new color...some will grab on with both hands and will take what you suggest and run with it...others though it’s like pulling teeth to try and get them to experiment...almost like they don’t want to discover for themselves what works and doesn’t work and why....they just want to be told “combine this and this to get ______.”

I've been coloring for six years now, and I make a LOT of "mistakes." Unless it's really a glaring error, I just incorporate the problem area and make it look like it was intentional, sometimes even repeating it elsewhere in the picture if I can! I don't erase very often. Sometimes when I post my pictures on Facebook I do "critique" my own work and I get a lot of positive feedback. But usually, I just put it out there and wait for the responses. I am not a professional in any way and have had no formal training, but my FB friends love my work!
