I have to say, this is true. This has happened to me in the past two weeks, practicing every other night... a couple nights I just didn't feel it, I was off. A couple nights later I would get back to it, and I was back in the groove. For the last couple years it was every night or every other night of practice, and I was always up for it, felt good, getting better. I quickly realized that if I've gone 30 minutes to an hour and just not in the groove, put 'em down and get back to it the next day or so. *I usually practice for about 3-4 hours at a time. ;}

Personally I will throw just to keep my arm and eye in when I can be bothered during my work week sometimes I don’t throw at all during that time depending how I’m feeling but on my time off from work I’ll have a day where I play for a few hours of intense routines scoring/doubles and games or if it’s a match night I’m out in the afternoon for a good warmup so I’m ready for whenever I’ll play, if it’s a tournament I like to be in early to settle into the atmosphere and then hit the board hard

I’am done with darts, gutted about it but it’s for the best. Unfortunately have dartitis and can’t put myself through the frustration anymore. Last night was the final straw. I just cannot follow through when I have a dart in my hand, I know what I want to do, I do the action without the dart in my hand but then when I take the dart I can’t follow through. I throw a lot of darts just outside the double 9 and 12 because I can’t release. I love the game and have a great collection of darts but just sickened off it now. Will miss the sessions with my mates, but i’am fed up with it. 🎯😢

Maybe just take some time off and don’t even think about darts, find a new hobby to take up your energy and brain space then try back at it down the line.

You could try switching hand like the darts referee did when he got dartitis

@@bloatyheadrob thanks for tip, but i’am in my mid forty’s, and ya can’t teach an old dog new tricks. I can’t remember the guys channel but he’s from Sunderland and he said it took him about 3 years to teach himself left handed, i honestly don’t have the patience for such a commitment. I’am going to take an extended break and then just try and enjoy the company and not really care about scoring or winning.

@@robertrice9466there is a guy in my league who was consistently a top 5 player in our league. Dartitus got so bad last season he took the time off between seasons to teach himself to throw with the left hand. After just a few months in the offseason he is top 25%. I am not sure how old he is but at least his mid thirties. I injured my shoulder last year and missed throwing so much I started with my left. Maybe 15 hours of practice and I was throwing better than a lifetime of casually throwing a few times a year before I started taking darts more seriously. I am 47. Luckily my shoulder got back to a place where I could switch back after a few weeks. The good thing about going opposite handed is you have no bad habits break. You have all the knowledge built in so you are just developing muscle memory. To me throwing bad darts and getting better is more fun than no darts at all.

Practice nope! Games against a bot or a person with some competitiveness yes all for it. But for the life of me I hate working on aspects or skills to get better. Playing and being competitive is the gun part. I much rather lose playing than work on outs any day. Dart bots have made it fun coming back to the sport after 30 years!

I agree! That’s why I love the granboard so much, yeah it’s soft tip but being to easily play online s Ben a game changer

@@BullshotDartsyup I think I’m going to try web cam on dart counter. Their bot is the best I’ve found but it’s still a bot lol.

Haha funny i feel the opposite. I love fine tuning a skill and working on details trying to break habits and better myself then trying to bring them out in a match
@stannelson25822 ай бұрын
@@NedMethod it’s all good stuff to bring confidence. And that makes competing that much better. 👍

You guys should have a look at Autodarts. Pretty much Scolia but affordable! If you have a PC and a Dartboard light you can Build a Setup for around 50€ or so!
