5:10 Thank you for being genuine here! There's too many videos out there where the person would be like "Oh wow! It's so much easier with your advice, I can't believe it. Such a difference, thank you!". Thanks for being honest and real with us, I really appreciate it. If you'd just follow a script and felt compelled to say certain things or act a certain way I would not be able to trust you and therefore I wouldn't be able to learn fro you. Much appreciated.

not going to lie, I am a person who tends to avoid overhangs and this week I have on purpose attempted them to try these tips, and was surprised how good it worked.

It makes me SOOO happy that you're collabing with Vivobarefoot! I recently bought a pair black all weathers (look very similar to yours but maybe a tad different model) that I do wear in almost all weather. I went on a hike on rocky, rooty, muddy terrain yesterday and could feel every little nook and cranny of what was under foot, without it hurting. Vivobarefoot has been paradigm shifting for me. My only "regret" is that I already got my 25% off in a deal they were running in March, rather than finding this first and supporting the channel! Will be on the lookout for further partnerships of yours with them :)

What about backstepping / using the outside edge on overhang? She mentioned not using edges, but does that only apply to the inside edge?

Do you have any tips for someone who has fallen and suffered serious injuries? I had a nasty fall last year and tore my ankle ligaments in both ankles at the same time. I haven't bouldered for six months to give my ankles a rest. But nowadays I climb with a lot of fear of falling. In addition, I have a weak shoulder that easily dislocates, so I do not dare to make some powerful moves with that arm. I feel like I’m stuck at 6A/6A+, but I think I’ve got the strength to climb 6B or even higher with enough motivation and some time.

As a newer climber coming into the sport, I have noticed how important feet strength are when doing certain climbs. TLDR: I used to walk a ton barefoot as a child and into my teenage years. Sadly, at age 13 and 15 I had reconstructive surgery on both my feet. Reason being was I had severe flat feet and other issues that needed to be corrected. My feet when barefooted were a lot stronger, especially my toes. As I've grown older and dealt with issues for not taking care of my feet, I have noticed my feet are weaker than before since primarily wearing shoes (but they are safer from any injuries now because I wear specific orthotics). I would want to do what every normal person can and buy these barefoot shoes and find ways to increase strength in my feet, but I know this won't be the case for me. My question would be, are there any specific climbing shoes I could use to help me with climbing if I do not have strong feet?

I thought this was a really interesting video however I think advertising Vivo shoes without giving more information about them is somewhat irresponsible. Most people won't be able to just start wearing barefoot shoes extensively without a transition period without getting injured and I think this is important to talk about first. It is training for the feet and you can't just start training every day without injury and people might not think about this.
@bonfield2488 ай бұрын
Sorry irresponsible was a bit harsh. But I thought that was an important point to make. I really liked the video and am looking forward to trying to see if I make these mistakes.
