Great stuff. I'm a T.E.F.L Teacher in 🇪🇸 Spain & always do it your way...If you spoon feed it to students it just doesn't sink in...Elicit, Elicit, Elicit then Elicit some more & NEVER interrupt fluency . correct mistakes or errors like word order later . If a student for example says I was walked to the shop , please just let them keep talking because it's difficult enough to get them started in the 1st place.Regards,John.

Thank you! That is what I teach as well - to create own examples, to experiment with the language. Thanks for the video to prove me right ❤ Murphy is my favourite book on grammar.

Understanding and using English Grammar by Betty Azar is an excellent book for learners of English. Basically it teaches American English, however , there are some useful instructions that are available for British English as well.

Wonderful books which my students love. Thanks for bringing them to viewers attention. It's up to the learners and teachers to use their imagination to recycle grammar and vocabulary in new contexts. Extending and playing with the structures.

I agree. In lower level classes A1 & A2 I get learners to write their own examples in pairs before they do the Murphy exercises.

Here's my list of the best books to improve the form of your output (too often known as grammar). under 10 Enid Blyton or similar 10 to 17 Harry Potter or Similar 18+ Anything depending on your level. All language books should be level appropriate even if not age appropriate. I am studying Spanish I am 50 and I am learning from reading books for 10 year olds. It's my level. Though I can understand higher levels. Krashen says that students learn litlle if any language by studying grammar. He say we should read and I totally agree.
@PracticeEnglishwithPaul7 жыл бұрын
TheCompleteGuitarist absolutely. All books must be appropriate for the level being learned. I believe as L2 learners, we must have grammar as well as vocab to support supported by texts to reinforce certain points otherwise we'd pick up books and understand nothing. Again, this is for L2.

@@PracticeEnglishwithPaul The book of Michael Swan is very good. The Michael swan book is deeper than Raymond Murphy's book. Yu can make a video in difference

Hi Paul! Congratulations for your very helpful videos! I would like to ask you further questions : should I pick a new grammar point in this book and study over it every day? And what do you think about the other Murphy's books for collocation, phrasal verbs and idioms? Should I give them a try? Thank you! :-)
