Great to hear about the mental aspect of the game. The only point that counts is the one you are currently playing is VERY true. Looking forward to the series and picking up the book. Thanks, Dish.

Lefty, glad I listened to this. I am a huge victim of "awfulizing" (sp)? That said, you should always try to think of 3 things you did right and 3 things you did wrong when you are done playing for the day and use those as your "self reward" or "area of work " for your next time on the cort. Glad I tuned in on this one. Kev-

After looking up definitions for the word honor; the only way to honor a game is to abide by its rules. Now if it is not the game that deserves honor what about your opponents? "HONOR, HOMAGE, REVERENCE, DEFERENCE mean respect and esteem shown to another. HONOR may apply to the recognition of one's right to great respect or to any expression of such recognition." Now if we look at the above definition and the fact that your opponents are challenging you pickleball game, I think it is your opponent that deserves the honor. As we get better at pickleball we should honor opponents skill set. In some ways just getting to play with someone is honoring them, especially if they are even or better than us.

Not sure “honor” is as restrictive as that. I believe Coach Pete uses the term in its broadest sense, which would include opponents as you correctly point out. I see it as honoring the whole experience: the game, your partner, the opponents, and even yourself as you play.

Great pickle ball tips! I just wish you wouldn't talk so fast without pause. I can follow what you're saying, but it can feel tiring. Like you were in a hurry to get it out.

Hello Malou. Speaking speed is something that struggle with for sure. I assure you it is not because I want to get out of there. Was a lot of fun to discuss. Thanks for listening. You can find it on podcast too.
