I am blessed here is South Sinai Red Sea Egypt. I have plenty of smooth stones from the beach. It made my first weeks having people running for cover. Since these last two months, i have better control but still sling only stone. I love this new sport, (upgrading from sling shot)... What keeps me motivated is my improvements day by day. I sling minimum 100 stones dauly...

Some solid advice! I also used pickle balls to help develop my shots. Pickle balls and tennis balls are critical when developing the spiral shot. I think every slinger should try different weights and balls as well as rocks to be well rounded.

I just ordered some foam golf balls off Amazon for inside practice an hour ago then I found this video and fee vindicated. I also ordered 53 1.5 oz fishing line weights. They looked pretty much like the 1.7 oz ones the Romans used so I have high hopes. But I don't think I'll be good enough for those for a while. Great video!

Nice job! I always thought these were interesting. I have some cord and large fishing weights to make a bola which Joe Bishop from Bishops backwoods survival motivated me to try. I haven't tried to make one yet. I think the sheperd sling could be on my list as well. Came here on recommendation from chuchin steel channel. Looks like you have some interesting videos.

Thank you bro!🙂 and thanks for the Sub. I just subscribed to yours as well. This community is a lot of fun. I cover a lot of different weapons on here but I have a special place in my heart for the slingshot community. It’s just some really great folk. Yeah the shepherd sling is very rewarding. I just wish I could find an infinite pile of stones to practice more and more 😂. I am however getting pretty good at throwing about any kind of rock that’s a decent size haha

One trick to control the pouch opening is called "Spider-Man web throw". This tip is originally from Channing (practical paracord). When I release I think that a rock is coming from inside of my hand. You are one with sling and just open up your hand and think your throwing web like Spider-Man does. I also flick my wrist during the release. With the heavier rocks it's much more easier to get them flying in the right direction. Lighter ammunition tends to delay the time pouch needs to fully open. If you practice with the modern flatband slingshot you can get really good within the months. Pickle fork slingshots are a different story. To become a good slinger it'll take years of practicing to be able to nail down your targets with the force and accuracy.
@411Outdoors
@411Outdoors 3 жыл бұрын
Very good tips my friend! I shoot flatband slingshots a lot and love them. I can hit small targets consistently . My channel is big on slingshots. There is most definitely a heavier dynamic with the heavier object in slings.

Hi I've just started slinging and as I release I can feel the stones rolling in the poutch and the release is tangled and all over the show even though I'm rolling my hand as I swing. Is my poutch too long or wide or what's going on. I'm told you release it just like your throwing a stone along water. But it's not even good let alone accurate? I made an Egyptian sling. Help

I've been looking into making lead or clay glandes for these. I'd think consistent projectiles would be more accurate. It's true for bullets, I don't see why it wouldn't be true here. Guns used to fire stone shot in olden times too, but accuracy was horrendous.

Lessons from slingin. If you miss your target. And you havnt changed. And you sling hasnt changed. And your technique hasnt changed. Has your ammo changed? Every rock is diferent. Some have defects. They miss. David selected 5(grace). smooth stones. Without defects. There are many refrences to Rocks. And the gospel. If the rock changes. Wev got problems!. Jesus said to peter"on this Rock il build my church". What rock?? Peter said "you are the son of god". This is the rock. Jesus said "on this rock".forenentioned statement from peter. Il build my church. The gospel. What he has done. Not what you do(discusting!) The finished work. Full stop!. Slingin rocks! You either fall on the rock. Or the rock falls on you. Thank fully. Im already dead. Praise jesus

@@411Outdoors how good he is! I suffered 28 yrs of torment; very mentally ill; from lordship salvation doctrine(calvanism) from ray comfort.(ray torment). Two years ago i heard the real; biblical gospel paul preached. Never been the same since. I love your vids doing the martial arts thing with the sticks poking out of the board like arms. And you do that punching ecercise. Does that bruise your arms? Ive had fibrimyalgia for 24yrs. Went to test a sling yesterday and i ripped all my muscles. Wasnt even trying. Its like having glass in all muscles. About ten years ago i did an experiment. Every night id go outside and lightly punch a brick wall about 20 times.(piezosynthesis). Bones harden due to the oiezo effect bones produce electrical current under shock; and harden. After about 6mnths. I was getting cinderblocks and crackin them from about a 8inch punch. Was fun. But bones quickly go back to being weak.

@@nathangrueber9834 I did one video where I went a little more in depth with my slinging style but it has been difficult to teach. I use the helicopter method and on my last rotation before throwing I’ll bring the swing a little bit lower and will release about 3/4 of the way around. Another thing I have to make sure I’m doing is angling off to the left slightly
