I think as a beginner, I am mostly trying to just get a shot. But I love the idea of telling a story more than just the shot! thank you for the tips Jimmy!!

Thanks for the input. I think that's where everyone starts when they first pick up the camera. From watching your videos, you've already got some really great action shots which can be quite difficult. Keep up the great work!

I’m not into photography, but I loved this video because sometimes I forget to observe nature. Fly fishing or trail running it’s easy to forget to watch nature happening and not just run past it. Thanks for the reminder !!

Thank you my friend, I'm glad you enjoyed! It's so easy to get distracted and miss all the neat stuff around. I'm constantly trying to remind myself to notice the little things too. Hope you're doing well!

Hey Jimmy. It makes video so much better when it is a story around it. It's like your Intro. You walked to a spot through the snow and every viewer know what struggle you have to get to the spot. Also stories in pictures are importend as you mentioned. Great informations with nice shots of the coyotes. greets Stefan

Thanks so much, Stefan! Your comments and feedback are always much appreciated! Storytelling through images is such a fun challenge in photography, one of the most fun parts in my opinion.

As usual another great video with some great tips. Like you when I started I was only interested in getting that portrait shot but getting some action and trying to tell a story is much more important now. I also really like to try to include some of the environment that the animal or bird lives in. Some great images in this weeks video the foxes are incredible. Have a great week and thanks for sharing your hard work.

Thank you, Keith! I think it's important to try things in photography that push you and your creativity. When I was first starting out, if I had jumped right into trying to get a bird in flight, or tell a story in some way, I think I would have been overwhelmed very quickly. It doesn't matter what level of photographer we are, just that we're continually trying new things and pushing our limits.

I’m relatively new to this, so I am still in the portrait phase, amazed at all the different species all around me, critters that I have never taken the time to pay attention to. I admit that I’m too centered on trying to catch a new and different species, something that I suppose is fairly easy when you are new to wildlife photography. I subscribed to, and watch your channel with the hopes of learning how to go from the simple portrait style pictures like what may be found in a bird identification book, to pictures that I would frame and put on the wall. Thanks for the inspiration.

Thanks so much for commenting and for your feedback! Photography is such a worthwhile endeavor and I wish you all the best in your journey. It sounds like you're in a fun stage right now of photographing a lot of new species. It's such an exciting time and I still go out regularly to look for a species I've never photographed before to feel that excitement. Good luck again, please let me know if you ever have any questions or anything 👍

Thank you for another good video! I wisch you could make a video on how to uppload a picture into a video in I movie. Showing the picture popping up. I know there are plenty of videos out there, however you talks so I understand everything you say.

This falls a bit into the "interacting with the environment" category; Lately, I've been trying to convey a feeling of seeing the animals in their habitat and what that feels like. A great tit singing, only its head visible in a out-of-focus sea of fresh spring colours. A shrike on top of a bush, just a white dot in the whole picture. Things like that. There's so much for me to learn and my pictures aren't where I want them to be yet. But it's so much fun experimenting and learning! :)

It's so fun branching out in the types of photos we take and trying new things. For so long I was content with the simple portrait, but I'm so glad I've continued to try and practice new techniques. I think we all feel what you describe, there's always so much more to learn, no matter where you're at with your photography and always improvement that can be achieved. I think the danger comes when we stop feeling that way.
