If there's a bad smell, in addition to cleaning and airing out, try putting it in a freezer for a few days. I did and that with a backpack I had and that killed the bacteria making the smell.

Do you know how this tent holds up in extreme wind, very cold/snow conditions? Also, is it possible to use two poles for the outside cover?

I have the same tent and used it in heavy rain for camping trips. It can also take guy out lines so wind won't be an issue. I took it to every field exercise as well. This thing is bomb proof.

I use mine in February in Pennsylvania all the time, it can handle heavy wet snow and crazy 60mph wind like a champ

Yeah, that rain fly is heavy and hugs that tent well. Tarp camping is good for summer.

Hi Tom, Happy New Year to you! I'd never noticed this video on your channel before. I'm a bit of a tent geek and have never heard of this one so it was fascinating to see. Thank you! That's an old video where I wasn't sure where the channel was going. Wanted to do an outdoors channel, but it became more popular with ham radio. Love that tent, but it's HOT in the summer!

Have you ever compared this tent to the multicam litefighter tent? Just curious as I have the improved combat shelter and it's a beast. Never leaks works great.

Mine stinks to HIGH heaven and ALL the way back down. It's not musk either, which is what I expected with surplus. It wasn't used but maybe once, and since has been packed bathing in plastic smell. I noticed you missed a step, that loop in the center up top is for the poles...give you an extra inch or so in head room.

Dryer sheets packed into the tent ,roll it loose and let it sit in the sun and then the smell is gone!

The ORC is 96 long 40 wide and 32 high on the low setting of the poles 36 on the high setting. Each corner has 2 options for the height and neither hole for the bottom of the poles are for stakes . This tent is made for rack time not camping 😂so keep thst in mind

The paint doesn't effect the water proofing... No mold if u let any tent dry property... I used krylons camo paint..I'm sure over time the paint my chip...but it turned well....

Philip Edwards it kind of gets better after you leave it setup after a while. you can also wash it softly in a bath tub and let it dry thoroughly. thanks for the comment
