My neighbors have something similar. The only drawback I see is when the power goes off (and it does around here a lot) the whole thing goes down.

We have power outages frequently here too (high winds/fire), my home security system is all on a battery backup, the cameras have spotlights that will still work in an outage, I've opted not to put these on the backup to conserve the battery.
Most simple outdoor LED lights can be dimmed with a simple resistor. They will keep them cool and last longer. I actually just buy a power supply with a lower voltage output.

Thanks for the walkthrough! Do you know if you can turn off sections of the E22 light strings, or what the solution would be if there is an extra 20ft at the end of the line?
@DoItYourselfDad2 ай бұрын
No, there isn't a way to shut off a section of the light unfortunately.

@@DoItYourselfDad on the Eufy website it states: Can I cut the light string to the desired length? No, you cannot cut the light. Each light string measures 16.4 ftand up to 9 strings can be linked. For any surplus length, simply customize and switch off the excess lights via DIY settings.

@@GambleOne3 I stand corrected.... I had searched the app for that and somehow missed it. Thank you for the correction.

I don't see the link for the backets for the old system. I have the problem and would like to get them

Appreciate the thorough review! I’m considering Eufy e22 or the Goovee Pro’s, my only hesitation on the Eufy e22 so far is splice-ability. In my install I need to cover 185’ with two eves and don’t want to end up with excess lights on either end. Any suggestions on if/method of splicing?
@DoItYourselfDadАй бұрын
You would have to get creative with your splicing, it would be doable if your handy with a soldering iron. The line could be cut, and extended. Unfortunately there isn't a plug and play way to do it with these lights.
@bobgoddАй бұрын
You can cut the lights to "end" them wherever you want. The eufy controller will sense the number of lights and auto-configure itself accordingly (this is what the white flash is upon power up). Extending is the tricky part, you'll most likely need to add in another power supply to keep the voltage signal strong. Depending on the length you can try a data booster, but I've had limited luck. You can also look into the quinled diff adv board which can extend long distances and maintain the signal integrity.

Yes, you can turn off any individual light on the strand, no need to splice.

Where? I’m still running on separate apps, which app covers all?

I've noticed that others install these lights pointing downward, towards the floor of the house. I like the idea of not having the spotlights directly visible. However, is this configuration recommended? Or do the lights need to point straight down?
@DoItYourselfDadАй бұрын
They don't need to be straight down, you can really orientation them in any direction. Along part of my eaves I have the lights pointed more upwards and towards the house. It diffuses the light nicely that way.
