I have been using the multi-head version for a few years now. Biggest advantages I see are now the motor is down low so you don't have to hold it up anymore. The second is the D-handle shape. It will be much easier to push this version around and pull it back with your grip being vertical. I want one! Also, being able to use the small battery, the multi doesn't like anything smaller than the 5.0!

The new handle looks nice. My company has one of gen 1 but i haven't use it. I hope I could try both gen 1 and 2 with real snow soon.

Nice review👍It's a great idea, but I wish it cut a bit wider path. If it did, it would be a nice option over a shovel when I need to clear my driveway, but there's not enough snow to fire up the snow blower👍

Informative video. Thank you. I am also interested in purchasing one, but I am leaning towards the Multi-Head carbon fiber version. Is there a reason why you chose this vs the Multi-Head options? I’d be interested to get your take on it. To me, the Multi-Head tool’s versatility with its interchangeable tool heads makes sense, especially when paired with the lighter carbon fiber shaft.

Once again, they did not consider making this unit telescopic! It does not work for petite or small stature individuals! The shaft is TOO LONG! Why they did not address this issue on the original unit or the second version escapes me! I love their other products, lawn mower and 2 stage snow blower. They both allow for adjustments for ergonomic comfort. They missed a target market! If you are short don’t buy this unit!

Who is calling this Gen 2? You or Ego? I’m assuming you as I didn’t see any mention about this term by Ego but maybe I missed it? The main reason I mention this doesn’t seem like Gen 2 is because it’s a totally different unit then the original shovel (which I own) as it is a multi tool attachment shovel. This is not. It’s an all in one unit. So I think it caters to a different buyer. I already had a few multi tools so the multi tool version is the shovel worked for me. Just my thoughts.

I call BS on 3 car drive with a 2.5ah batt. I have the model that stitches to a powerhead. I usually run it with a 10ah batt on the ego backpack. I can do my sidewalk and patio before the battery is drained. Maybe If it's a dry, light snow but otherwise that 2.5 is going to last 8 minutes.
