Last season Liverpool played a large part of the season with the kids. Salah played in the African cup of nations and came back injured and Alisson, Trent and Jota all spent a month out injured. Their fall occured when the seniors cam eback from injury with 5 games to go and simply were not upto the pace. They jolted. This is not happening this season. They are dangerous team and too many teams are underestimating them. Alisson, Van Dijk, McCallister, Salah are a great mature spine. 3 of those have already won the title and Champions League. Even McCalister has won the World Cup with Argentina. They have experience Arsenal don't have. They have lost confidence.

@ArsenalLee01 100% how our fanbase is. I've seen players ghost for the whole game and get a 2 yard assist or from a corner and they become the best thing since Thierry Henry. Our manager is largely at fault for the inbalance of this team and for the lacklustre performances from our attackers. The amount of times our CB's or Rice pick up the ball with space infront and choose to go sideways is not football and never gives our attackers the chance to attack properly.

@benjiradach1361Күн бұрын
Curious that you said nothing about their performances without Rodri.
@samh79Күн бұрын
@ what about it? City without him are nowhere near as good. Who’s our Rodri that’s been out an entire season? My point is that he’s saying that we can’t be expected to be good as we’ve been ravaged by injuries (which we haven’t really). So by that logic, any team who wins big silverware have been with their entire squad all season??
@benjiradach1361Күн бұрын
@@samh79 Odegaard, apparently, is one of our Rodri-type players (so is Saliba). We've struggled in his absence. Liverpool struggled in VVD's absence; and City is significantly worse without Rodri. It makes sense that a team will struggle in the absence of a key player, especially a player who has hardly been absent for years (so that much of the team's strategy is designed around him). This is what Lee is trying to communicate. Not sure how you got a team MUST have an entire squad to win silverware from that - like he's somehow suggesting that Arsenal would have struggled if Vieira or Nketiah were injured last season. Also, a number of our key first teamers are playing through obvious knocks - Saka, White, and now Rice come to mind. Maybe this just isn't our season - no one could have controlled or predicted the number of freak injuries to our players. It might be sad, but it's just what it is. We support our team.
@samh79Күн бұрын
@ I’m not saying injuries don’t impact a team, I’m saying our injuries haven’t been bad enough to just say “ah well what can we do?” The fact city won the league last season with De Bruyne missing most of the first half says it all, and having players missing a few games each (minus Odegaard) doesn’t explain why we have been so bad. Most of it is to do with an absolute inability to be flexible tactically and respond to these few injuries. Plus all the games we have dropped points (minus Bournemouth and Newcastle) we have been in the lead and couldn’t hold on is probably more of a talking point.

@ It’s perfectly ok to complain about injuries, it’s nothing to do with lack of accountability. Pep complained about it, why shouldn’t Arteta? You think City will be where they are if they had Rodri in the team?
@MrRozayyy18 сағат бұрын
@@ibm3449 yes they would. City over the last 2 szns have started of poorly with Rodri included and still managed to win the league. This year it is looking different but historically they’re known for kicking into gear after January. Injuries are apart of football, have to accept it and find alternative solutions or you prepare better before hand
@stevea9892 күн бұрын
Your analysis is so out of context. Arsenal have had to play Bournemouth, Brighton and City with ten men. 2 draws and a loss could have been 3 wins in those matches. That’s 9 points instead of 2; Liverpool are 9 ahead, very different context to what it is now without talking about injuries. Liverpool will have their fair share of injuries too and two wins for us and two draws for them could bring us within 5 points. Win at Anfield and we could be within 2 points. Even Slot recognised the unique context that we’ve had to play in. Let’s hope we have better luck after the break; keep the faith, the boys will turn this around.

@@SpecialP5what he’s saying is that the fanbase does genuinely have an impact. If an entire fanbase gets on the same page and puts pressure on ownership, they can do enough to make a difference. It’s why managers get sacked all the time. It’s why changes are made. So if the fanbase is too easily accepting of mediocrity and just simply let a regime get away with no trophies in half a decade and absurd moves or lack-thereof, then nothing will change. Fans pushed ownershio into sacking Wenger after they all got frustrated enough of the failures, they made a change, and we had hope, but it’s gotten to the point that the upward trajectory has flattened, and in many respects, fallen. This team isn’t as strong as it’s been recently, clearly hasn’t won and doesn’t look like winning, the the current leadership has made several pivotal detrimental decisions. Half a decade and near a billion pounds with nothing to show is more than just a “process”. So yes, fans do need to change their outlook and attitude if they’re wanting real success, which is only made of silverware.

Ok can I make everyone feel a bit better? All it takes is one Liverpool draw for the whole complexion to change. Then the gap is 7 points. Liverpool and city have to play twice. For argument sake let’s say it’s 2 draws. Then the gap is 3 points. Liverpool have to go away to villa, Newcastle, spurs, Chelsea, Brighton, forest etc. They can drop a lot of points there. I know this also hinges on Arsenal winning our games but our next 8 games look very winnable on paper. By the end of this run, I’m certain the gap will be less than 4 points. It’s not over guys!
