Occupational therapy improves the overall functional abilities of our kids with autism .Whether it is related to self regulation,play skills,social skills, behavioural skills amd academic skills.Its takes time to improve one skill using multisensory and neuromotor activities .One step improvement at a time takes us to last step and thus enhancing that particular skill.Kindly remember there is no theory behind how much improvements will occur and in how much time.This answer ,only your child brain's and body's capabilities could give with the course of treatment.

Autism is a spectrum disorder where there is no Gold standard. Every child is very different even with similar sensory or behavioral symptoms....Many kids with mild symptoms show improvements in 6 months to an year but some shows very little or fewer improvements ....

Hi mam, the main concern I have with my 4 year 10 month-old son is stubbornness .saying no to activities food classes writing story reading or listening etc..diagnosed as mild autism. Will OT help me in this case?

Ma'am my daughter fears climbing stairs... All of a sudden... She cries... She didn't fell... Or hurt... But after diarhoea and fever... from then she cripples and cries a lot... Before that she was all fine & good... Climbing alone the stairs... She is 3.3 years old... She is a very slow walker too..

You need to have full occupational therapy assessment to know the reason of her fear after fever .Still you can use the densensitization technique by first exposing to one step of stairs daily and then within a period of time second step .Note that her fear threshold should not be crossed forcefully......

@meena it could be auditory/ tactie /proprioceptive sensory issue. Need to do clinical observation and sensory assessment to reach to a proper conclusion....

There are different reasons to use vibrator.If your child really seeking vibrator sense and becomes calm down by it then you can use it .How to use vibrator,is difficult to show until you and your child is not with any expert occupational therapist
