As someone who has used these ‘Follow Me Wobblies’ extensively as part of supposed cost cutting measures I have mixed feelings about them. They are okay to just roll along behind you without any down pressure on them which really doesn’t accomplish much as applying any down pressure on them to properly compact the road surface does two things. Fist it takes some traction off your tandem drive wheels and secondly as they roll over any stones or imperfections they cause the entire grader to wobble around adversely affecting your blading and road surface. We basically ended up trying to make the best of them by blading with them rolling lightly along behind, then afterwards we’d drive the grader back and forth several extra times over the freshly bladed surface with down pressure on the packer to compact the material properly. So we were using the expensive grader as a packer and cutting into its blading time instead of using a proper packer at its less expensive rate to operate. It kind of defeats the entire purpose of supposedly saving money but on paper it sounded good, in reality our bladed kms per grader day (real production) fell while using them which speaks for itself.

And private Salmon Fishing charter & sport. The logging companies also add the Oils from trees to put down as a type of harder like pavement. They also had the new joy stick control CAT grader.
